So winning the arbitration or whatever it was about Bird rights last month only got us Steve Novak.

Best thing to happen to the Knicks since that run to the finals in '99, and they're throwing it away. Such a damn shame.

At least we're bringing back part of the '99 team. :nonono:

We are an OK team until proven otherwise.. this team has so many BONE HEADS ON IT, but we shall see if this ship floats or sinks.

What was the highest number Lin could have made in the first year?

8-8-8 for the rockets
5-5-15 for the Knicks

If Jeremy wanted to be a Knick why would he sign that structured kind off deal? Lin didn't want to be here. He wants his own team and he wanted out of New York. His agent knew the Knicks cap and tax situation, had a deal the Knicks said they would match and turned around and made the Knicks think twice by changing the payments up. It is what it is. Lin did not want to be here. I can't wait for us to play the rockets (Lin won't play though he'll be injured with his punk a**).

how can the contract be setup like that?

It can't. Lin never signed off on a specific structure. That greenhughes guy and his cronies are morons. What happened is Hou offered a 3 year $25 mill contract. Since they are under the cap they spread that offer (basically) even over the three years. It's gonna be something like $8, 8.3, 8.7. Since the Knicks are ALREADY OVER THE CAP, if they matched (thanks to the Arenas rule), they are forced to pay a max of the MLE for the first two years. Hence $5 for year 1 and $5.25 for year 2. They remainder of the contract will be forced into the third year therefore making ($25 - $5 - 5.25) ~14.8 for that year.

Nothing indicates Lin did not want to be here as there morons lie about. Lin, under the assumption the Knicks will match anything, signed the biggest contract he can get, PERIOD. The structure is because of NBA rules, not Lin's or even Houston's choice.

If Lin leaves, it's because he wants too. Not going to cry over it. Not even worth my tears or be angry about it.

It was never about the money, I think Lin pissed off Dolan, and a bunch of other people in the front office.

so why let him go if you're pissed? match and then trade him to toronto or some random place.

Brief Lin update: Since posting story, I've been assured again that this decision is not going to be reversed.

I want to know who his source is. I think it's a janitor who was emptying the trash while the Knicks were meeting.

Probably because of the fact that the Knicks won EB rights for Lin in the arbitration. That meant they could go over the apron to match Lin if they wanted, so they decided to save him for last and take care of all other signings while still under the apron. Now, as to why Novak and Felton got 4 year deals? That is a mystery.

In all honesty I wish you really would just leave. You are one of the reasons other Lin fans aren't even taken seriously by anyone.

The luxury taxes you will have to pay in the third year of Lins contract is....ridiculous. Felton isnt better than Lin, but hes serviceable, and the money he is making is much less. I think u guys will be fine next year with or w/o Lin. You still have Kidd, who can still produce.

Dolan lost 30+ million the last two days from the MSG stock and the decision was not even public, yet. Want to rethink it from a business perspective?

The stocks went down last week as well when Woodson said they would absolutely match by more than 30 million dollars. MSG will be fine, it'll go up even more when the Knicks, and Rangers make the playoffs again.

Yup heat and thunder had lots of guys who didnt want to be there

What's your point? Are you really going to tell me that you only want players that are willing to take less money to be here?
