You should have played with Carmelo
Could've won a title and then maybe we'd retire your number
I guess that you just need that dough
And now you're just Jeremy that I used to know

How the hell do you mix up the Boston Celtics, one of the most storied franchises in NBA history with the freaking Houston Rockets?

Even my niece knows where the Red Sox are from and she's 7.

I'm a Lin fan and I thought today's news sucks complete monkey balls, but at least we're cutting some fat.

what would you rather have sitting beside you a little cute Asian girl that you have to explain basketball too...

or a guy who looks like he has never missed a meal in his life swilling beer and telling you Stats you already knew...

sadly your probably only going to see this type of girl sitting next to you when Lin rolls into town once or twice a year

Funny how the Yao influence has barely been touched upon by anyone. No writers getting quotes from him, no talk of how that impacted Lin's decision to perhaps sign (and then resign) etc. Lin mentioned the two talked regularly.

Someone on the radio mentioned how Yao was involved in influencing mgmt to put more money behind the offer.. You'd think the two probably had more of a correspondence over the last few weeks/days than Lin and Knicks

Lin never flew to HOU to amend the terms as the first offer was a verbal agreement leaked out by media. He then flew to Vegas to sign the final offer which is also the only offer ever on paper.

Yes, but by all accounts, Lin never told the Knicks a)he was coming to vegas and b)was reworking the offer originally leaked. The Knicks are going about their business thinking one thing and then get blindsided by something very different. While it can be said that they should know better, it is on Lin to deal with them a certain way if NY was his #1 choice and not do them dirty, as its been reported.

Whose Lin gonna be siting next to??? Chit sucks for him too he’s gonna be playing on one of the worst teams in the league.. Have you seen the Rockets roster? Chit looks like the Knicks Summer league team son.. foh

You think John Wall is having a good time with the Wizards? Or Eric Gordon with the Hornets and all their good young talent and draft picks? I wouldn’t wish that on nobody, and you all happy and giddy and chit like you just got your first highschool crush….

Good job James Dolan. Frugality wins out! Let's dump the player who saved our season, who took us to the playoffs, made us over $100 million in a single season (including revenue sharing), who made New Yorkers care about the Knicks again. (which Melo didn't and still doesn't). Frugality at the right time, when you previously overspend for Jerome James, Eddy Curry, Larry Brown and Isaiah Thomas. Matter of fact, let's bring in a fat, bench PG from a lottery team, pair him up with a 40 year old and we're set for the future! Perfect time to be frugal New York Knicks. Having Lin gave them an x-factor, which in reality could have pushed them to contention if everything worked out. Now, the reality is they are a treadmill team, with nothing to show for Linsanity. How do they not even conduct a sign and trade is beyond me.. just laughable. This is why the Knicks will always be who they are.. I'm glad I'm not a Knicks fan.

Hollinger: Raymond Felton "Might Be 300 Pounds" By 2014-15

John Hollinger of ESPN.com takes a shot at former Portland Trail Blazers guard Raymond Felton in his analysis of the New York Knicks' decision not to match a Houston Rockets offer sheet for restricted free agent guard Jeremy Lin.
---------------------------
The tax on Lin's deal might be much easier to handle if they weren't also paying a combined $7.2 million in guaranteed money to Camby, Kidd and Felton that season, even though the first two will be in their 40s and the third might be 300 pounds by then.

Just as long as it isn't a Mel Gibson production...we've seen enough racial slurs in these threads.

NyKnicks1714 wrote:If you can scientifically prove that Raymond Felton is 100x better Lin, it's still a disgustingly bad move to not match. He is an asset, even with his contract. He was the biggest story of the sports world so far this year and teams will trade for him, period. His contract does not hurt us against the cap whatsoever when we'll have 3 guys making $62 million that year anyway. We lost him for NOTHING.

If I told you back in mid-February that we were going to lose Lin, a RFA, in free agency, I can only imagine what kind of responses I would get.

On top of that, anyone with one eye and half a brain can see that we don't have a championship calibur team. There aren't any ways to remedy that either. Would Lin have made us one? No, of course not. Did he have potential to, or did the pieces we could have gotten for him have potential to? At least it gave us a chance.

Dolan is a joke, an absolute joke. In this situation, an 8-year-old would literally have done a better job than him.

I totally agree. Not a crazy fan of Lin, but this Knicks organization just keeps disappointing. Bring in a 39 your old Kidd and fat Felton to take over, you got to be kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People said the same thing about the rockets last year, the year before last year. Facts are, the rockets, given recent struggle, have constantly pushed for the playoffs, remained above 50% every year and never tanked, stayed competitive in the toughest division.

Had rockets been in the east they would have made the playoffs every single year whereas Knicks have won 1 **** playoffs games in the past 10 years.( and laughing stock too)

Who's on the rockets? Promising young players with upside and a highly possible trade happening in the near future for a star. Knicks? Guys went 18-25 and a washed up Kidd, fat Felton and a stupid knucklehead in JR.

Knick have no cap flexibility, already paying luxury tax and none of their players are getting younger. Yea right they are so getting CP3.

Good luck with your championship run fellas, that team totally gonna rock.
