If we can ship J-Brick out with dwight that takes care of that. You can cut Hedo and Duhon. Meer's contract is not bad, BBD is not on a bad contract. So how does that leave us with bad contracts???

I hear people saying that Henny wants young talent and tank to get picks. This makes the Meer signing make no sense to me. Why sign him if you are planning to tank?

Because every rebuilding team needs a veteran to guide them, to help them develop and Meer is a very good leader. We need a guy like this. Like we need BBD because he will make the young players hustle more and more.

I agree with you that BBD's contract isn't bad.

For me the worst contracts are these (ordered): Jrich, Hedo, Q and Duhon, but Hedo could help us in 1 year to get us something for his expiring, so it isnt so bad to keep it.

First off, why is everyone all ofa sudden think BBD is great now. Im tired of hearing "oh he played great in the playoffs!" Really? He had 3 games of which he shot 40% or lower.......... AS A CENTER! He is undersized as a center and will get killed by the likes of players like Roy Hibbert, Bynum, Howard, or anyone else that is 7 feet or taller. Hell, Id say Lopez could contain BBD. If hes is moved back to PF, hes just going to settle on those 18 foot jumpers, which I think he hits at 30%. Dont quote me on that figure though. He has 3 more years on his contract. Its a bad contract and it needs to be shipped out.

This is a perfect example of why it's a business decision as well as a basketball one. I buy two club seats to take clients and prospective clients to games. If the team totally tanks, do I really want to invest that $10K, or do I look at some other way to invest it? For some folks that's not a big deal, but I assure you it's a huge deal for me.

Do small businesses take a chance on that kind of investment if the team is nothing but rookies and Anderson Varejeo?

Like I been saying, giving away Howard is like throwing away $50 million. I know 15 year lower bowl ticket die hard Magic fan holders that have completely given up on the Magic and the NBA. I wonder what them corporate presidential sweets will go for now.

I dont think so, except the rookies lights out.

Teams that are better than us (not in order):
1- Bulls
2- Miami
3- Indiana
4- Boston
5- NY
6- Sixers
7- Brooklyn
8- Milwaukee
9- Washington

We would compete against:
1- Detroit
2- Atlanta
3- Cleveland
4- Charlotte
5- Toronto

Why would anyone in there right mind want to trade the one player that had heart in the playoffs last year did everything they could do to win, tried their heart out and produce, BBD was the heart of the team at the end of last year and produced in the playoffs, his contract is 6 million per for a big man. Hes not a liability throw in, if we rebuild or trade for bynum I want BBD as captain because he leads by example and actually gives his all.

Does anyone know if that 3rd year is team option based on Meer's contract?

If that Alex Kennedy quote on the radio is true, then it means Henny wants to go full rebuild so I don't understand why we would want Bynum or why we aren't taking the Houston package.

1) Big Baby Davis is a SOLID role Player
2) 6 million and change for a Role Player isnt bad when this Offseason weve seen Players get Overpaid by alot(looking at you Brook).
3) BBD is exactly the kind of Player Henny Likes.
4) you know theres a thing called the cap floor and u cant spend Below that on a team so im fine with a slight overpay for BBD when the team needs leaders and BBD is a Leader

If your business decisions really are affected whether a sports team that you actually do no business with other than go take clients to, depends if they win or not they that says something about YOUR selling ability!

1st, when did i say that BBD is great? I said he doesnt have a bad contract, it's a OK contract, normal one, bigs get paid and most of them gets more than BBD. Asik will earn 8M a year and averaged 3/5 last season, for example.
2nd, we need to have some bigger contracts, because every team needs to spend at least 90% of the salary cap to do not get penalized.
3rd, he shows a lot of effort and leads by example like someone said, what do you think its better, have a guy like Hedo/Jrich/Duhon mentoring our rookies or BBD/Nelson/JJ?

Come on man, I have tons of relationships with vendors who try and use magic tix to put them over the top, and with me it works. But if the team absolutely blows those business are going to use that money on something else to bribe people for business. It has nothing to do with selling ability.

:) I dont know, i just dont know what BBD can bring. I understand Asik is about to get paid an absurd amount and a lot of players are getting more money than their worth, but I just dont see BBD being consistent enough, night in and night out. But hey, if were tanking this year, then im all for keeping him......

So basically you want to go to Magic games and they will use their money else where and take you to maybe Solar Bear games and you don't like that!

Well if we go full tank mode maybe they will open up more of the $5 seats. Those damn things went fast.
