Guys, don't be so delusional, don't believe everything you hear/read. I can't believe some of you actually are entertaining the idea Dwight will be here at start of the season. No chance in hell and yes, I asked Miss Cleo.
I'm standing firm by my stance. A trade is inevitable. When? Well, that's the question.

I don't care if Howard starts the season in Orlando or finishes here at this point. As long as he does NOT end up in BRK at the trade deadline. Henny needs to make that clear to him now. Skip Bayless may have a point. Hold on to Howard and he will eventually sign and stay.
As far as the Ellis talk from the last thread...Ellis is NOT the answer. It is a CP3 AND Iggy type player or bust. We will always have the potential to get to the ECF every year with Howard but thats it.
monta fits our needs more than iggy. regardless we will get neither

Along with Lopez, Suns would send Hakim Warrick to Hornets. Minny would send Wesley Johnson and a 1st round pick to the Suns, sources say.

Hornets, Suns, Wolves are nearing agreement on a 3-way deal that would send Robin Lopez to the Hornets in a sign-and-trade, sources tell Y!
I dont get it, how did the suns get a 1st and a guy that was the #4 pick 2 years ago for ROBIN LOPEZ (24 year old 5ppg/3rpg) and we get Gustavo Ayon for Ryan anderson (24 year old, 16/7.5)??
Thanks Otis

We all are excited about that TOR pick (if we trade with HOU) but I remembered seeing a rumor that TOR was gonna make a push for Iggy by offering Derozan + fillers. That move has the potential to derail us getting that pick. Here is to hoping they don't trade for Iggy
Lowry

Iggy
Davis

Iggy wouldn't resign there. If the pick isn't lottery this year it just goes to next year (and continues until it is a lottery pick)

We would if Howard signed and we cleared more room next summer. That seems near impossible though. It is frustrating to think that if Devos decides to hold on to Howard, our roster is horrible and we would be like what the 6 seed? Rebuilding and dumping bad contracts at least gives us a chance to potentially contend again in like 4 years. Tough choice...especially because Howard is a horrible recruiter even if he stays.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLII Off-Season Edition
Question. I think I read that if we trade Dwight the other team only aquires his bird rights if he is traded before the season starts. I mihht have read it wrong but if thats the case it would be huge for the other team to be able to offer extra year and more money. For a team like Houston it would hinder their chances of resigning Dwight after the year. I might have read the article wrong or mis-read it but if true I would think trade would have to be done before season starts. I asked this in last thread but didnt get a reply so just seeing if this was new to the current CBA. Thanks
Sorry for any misspelled words. Messages sent from my smart phone w a tiny touch keyboard.

I doubt davis starts, jonas valanciunas is coming over this year and is much better. Willing to bet if he was in this years draft he would of gone #1 or #2

I think it could be argued to be more delusional blindly believing in a FO with a terrible history of making these exact same mistakes.
Keeping Dwight fits in with Devos to a T
If Dwight is receptive even the slightest bit at their meeting or even slightly leaves the door open I would almost guarantee he will be here

Am I missing something, why is Minny sending a pick and Mathews to the Suns?

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLII Off-Season Edition
Magic need to take something more substantial to Dwight, other than "well... you can't go to Brooklyn now... so you gonna extend or what?". given the fact that we've done nothing to upgrade and improve this team this summer, i'm struggling to believe they'll be doing any more than that.
it's in our best interest to trade JRich and Hedo, regardless of whether or not Dwight stays or goes. Joe Johnson was moved, and his contract is $15M more expensive than JRich. Marv Williams was moved, and he's paid $2M more. heck, Atlanta scored themselves a serviceable PG on an expiring deal in return for Marv! who here wouldn't prefer Devin as the backup PG, even if it costs $9M for one season?
i don't think this team has ever offered Dwight anything other than "are you going to extend now?".

Sucks doesn't it? Maybe one day we will make good trades for us. Big or small trades we will come out ahead. I mean dang, PHX/TOR/NOH/ are all making moves that put us to shame. Yet we are still stuck with Hedo/Duhon/JRich.

Good point. It is sad that I am beginning to be jealous of TOR's roster....lol

Not seeing that, in fact, seeing people say that he's specifically not included. Brad Miller seems to be.

MInn wouldn't need to send out a first if it was a pure salary dump so that doesn't pass the smell test

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLII Off-Season Edition
Great deal for the Hornets imo. I wasn't feeling Anthony Davis at center. At least this gives them the option to play Lopez at 5 and Davis at 4.
Suns also made out good with Wesley Johnson, who could finally get his shot in PHX, and a 1st.
There's always a deal to be made in the NBA.

At least part of package back to Minny would include Brad Miller (his contract), Jerome Dyson and draft picks, sources say.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLII Off-Season Edition
if that move is to clear caproom for the TWolves then it seems like an excessive price for them to pay? and i wonder who they're clearing it for? room to absorb a contract in an incoming deal??
they must have close to $20M in cap space now, right? and they'd know that this is the summer to make additions before Pekovic claims $10M+ of that next summer.
