They planned this so they wouldn't have to face the goat team, USA, until the gold medal game. Instead of caring about these poverty preliminary teams, they are looking ahead preparing for real ones. If everything goes as planned, they should face Spain first. Spains biggest strength is their size so why not make Jonas look inferior so they go easy then BOOM the Boy CHOO CHOO Val runs a train on them and shocks the world.

It was to be expected that his first major hurdle would be controlling his fouls. Coming off the bench for the raps, this shouldnt be a concern for us at all.

I think what's been made clear here though is that it's not even his fouls that are an issue. He had two in the last game and the second one was BS. It's a coaching problem. You're right though that once he's on the Raptors it won't be an issue. I just feel really bad for him :(. The whole country of Lithuania should be rioting in his defense!

Yes. I usually stay away from these games but I want to see how he matches up against the USA's bigs. He'll probably be thoroughly dominated and get into foul trouble in quick fashion, but I want to see it.

Why do you think he will play at all? My guess is 5 minutes gets a foul coach goes ape **** on him again and he is benched for the rest of the game.

I thought some starter blew out his knee? Is his play really that bad?

I was looking towards this game forever, but now I dont care anymore, this how bad we got... Course I will be watching it, but whats the difference, we know it will be ugly. This entire thread should be left alone for a couple of months. Terrible Olympic basketball experience for Jonas and his fans...

I personally hope he gets destroyed and works on his game a lot harder. This could be one hell of a motivational tool.

No. But you know every coach has a plyer that he likes to blame, a sort of scapegoat. And sadly for Kmerzura such player is Jonas. If Jonas does 9 things good and one bad coach instantly sits him down and starts screaming on him and in after the game comments stresses out how much Valanciunas is lacking, while another player does 1 thing good and 9 bad and Kemzura keeps him in and after the game praises him for a wonderful contribution...

Jonas isnt playing bad. Has problems with fouls and sometimes gets late in pick'n'roll defense but he is far from being bad. He is however a sort of scapegoat of the coach.

Right now he lost any confidence and is afraid of doing anything whoile in game cause he knows if he makes a single mistake coach is likely to bench him for the rest of the game and hold him accountable for the teams bad performance even if he only played 7 minutes or so.

If Kemzura remains as NT coach, I think Jonas will have one of those late season mystery injuries that require taking the summer off to rest - every summer until LIT has a new head coach. And if I am Bryan Colangelo, that's what I'm going to tell him to do.

Looks like Sportsnet will carry this game. It's almost a guarantee that Val will foul out, but he should play some minutes given that it will be a huge blowout.

btw, for those who want to watch the game, dunno if this has been posted...
Just download Expat Shield at http://www.expatshield.com/ It's a program that hides your IP so that you can access BBC's live Olympic streams
After Connecting Expat Shield, just go to http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/2012/live-video and select the event you want to watch live. Nothing illegal about it.

We as raptor fans, myself included always seem to find someone to blame for our players failures. Jonas is young and raw, as of right now he just isn't very good, its not the LIT coaches fault that he is way behind most players in this tourny. His foul trouble, poor decision making and lack of understanding the coaches system is what has landed him on the bench.

This doesn't mean Jonas is a bust, it just means he has a longggggg way to go before being a dominant or even a relevant player.
