Getting a bunch of firsts, Afflalo and a few other prospects isn't a really terrible deal for the Magic. Obviously it isn't equal value for Howard, but as soon as this mess started they weren't going to get great value for him.

i guess pat riley knew it was only a matter of time before the lakers got dwight, and that forced him sign perimeter shooters.

Over what? I guy who can't walk  Lakers have a great team, but there's nothing to be nervous about considering you guys still have to get to the finals before even worrying about the Heat. As a Heat fan I'd love seeing a game between these two teams because it'd basically be an all star game

If you truly believe that, all the power to you...but IMO and the general consensus agrees, that its an abysmal deal.

The firsts are worthless since they are from playoff teams.

If that's how you see this, the Brooklyn deal was BY FAR the better trade and Hennigan said no to it.

He backed himself into a corner and now this. What a freaking loser. I would fire him on the spot. He put himself in this situation and didn't have the foresight to see that he should have taken the BRKLYN deal and that Howard was -done- with that organization and there is no hope of repairing it.

He's a straight up loser.

And yet Miami has only managed to win one more Super Bowl than LA.

Afflalo and Harrington, who combine for over 45 million in the next 3 years.

I just don't see how that's significantly better than what Brooklyn was offering

They could just as easily move Lopez, a 7 footer who can get you 20 a night, for a lottery pick if they want draft picks so bad.

Apparently he just didn't want to move Howard within the conference.

Oh ok. Well in that case, hell no...they would never ask for Duhon, he might be the worst player in the league. But the Lakers can act like they're doing them a favour by absorbing his irrelevant contract, (compared to what they're already paying) giving him the Adam Morrison role of a lifetime and solidifying an incredible deal.

I'm not a fan of moving Afflalo, but I'm hopefully that Iggy will be worth it. Al was nice to have, but Wilson Chandler should be able to replace him more than adequately and the first should be later first so that will help offset getting rid of Harrington's contract. The Nuggets could be one of the best defensive teams in the league with Iggy and Gallo on the wings.

Philly and LA improved quite a bit and both should be higher seeded playoff teams.

Orlando got a very underrated player in Afflalo, but overall got a horrible deal. I don't quite get how the Nuggets ended up giving up the most to the Magic to end up with the 3rd best player in the deal. Seems like the whole deal is very skewed.

If Orlando just wanted picks and scrubs, why didn't they take the Houston deal?

I ain't even mad. The meltdowns are hilarious. However, from a strictly basketball POV, it seems like Houston's deal was every bit as good as this one. PEACE.

Harrington's contract is only 50 percent guaranteed in 2013-14 and 2014-15. It can be used as a trade chip for teams that want to cut salary.

No need for top 3 picks, all we will do is build them into bonifide superstars and trade them to LA in 2020.
