people are making too big a deal of this...yes its not a good contract, but he still has a LOT of potential, they get Marshon Brooks, more draft picks, Humph as well...the opportunity to shed some other bad contracts too. It was a much better deal. At some point, you really do want guys who can play over cap room for a team that other players view as incompetent and would be reluctant to sign with anyways.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Nets deal but its a hole hell of alot better then the one they ended up with.If it was just Lopez or Afflalo I would much rather have Afflalo,whom I think is a better and cheaper player.But when you add in the other peaces of the deal i.e a young up and coming SG in Brooks in 4 1st round picks with zero protection and the fact the the Nets would have taken any one or two of the Magic terrible contracts i.e Turk and J-Rich this is a really bad move on the Magics part.


The Magic should have took the Rockets rumored deal 1st or the Nets deal 2nd but instead ended up playing chicken and ended up with the worst cases out of any possible trade.
