Bringing him in destroys any chance of us improving through draft or free agency. No thanks

exactly, gay is not the type of player you give a max too in our situation

Can almost guarantee he'll start @ pf

I like him there too...he made me eat crow in the playoffs but i haven't forgotten his atrocious regular season and antics....Still though i think he will be pretty good as the starter there....although i hope he's in much better shape than last season....doesn't look real good on that front since i seen some recent video of him at a pickup game....looks like he could still lose like 20 pounds

I like Rudy a lot but that will be a big mistake with what management are trying to do. If we get Rudy that must mean that we are trying to be somewhat competitive and the goal is to suck and suck hard :P

Thank you. BBD should never start at center. Vucevic or O'Quinn will man that position.

If we're trying to develop our youth while tanking, shouldn't we be starting Davis at C and Nicholson at PF? That undersized front court will let most teams score at will in the paint. Nicholson would get a ton of minutes in his first year. Let Harrington backup Nicholson until he's traded, then give those minutes to O'Quinn. Niko can backup Baby. I see too much controversy down the line if we start Baby at PF.

Why? I thought BBD held his own against the top 3 center in the league in the PO's.

We lost 4 of 5 while he put up numbers... he did as well as we could have hoped against a giant. But if I recall correctly the Pacers got whatever they wanted after game 1. A fat, short center can only do so much on a bad team. Baby won't last a full season going 100% starting at C and that would work in our favor... at least that's what I'm thinking.

Maybe i misread, but when people say they don't want Baby starting at C and he doesn't belong there... seems to me they're thinking about trying to win or something. Isn't our goal to lose in the most entertaining way as possible while developing players?

Definitely JJ come the deadline. I'd say Harrington and McRoberts too.

I feel bad for Harper. Placed in such a bad situation. He's going to get short changed here unless he comes to camp out playing guys. I know he was trying to adjust to the SF spot, but unless Hedo is dealt, he'll be burried on the bench.

You're misremembering. Baby did a solid job on whoever he was guarding. There was a noticeable difference in Hibbert's performance against us and his performance against Miami.
Remember when Kobe elbowed Jameer in the chin so hard Jameer was knocked down and sent skidding across the floor?

I am not talking about 1 on 1. Teams as a whole will not be afraid to challenge the paint against two 6'9 guys, one of whom is a vertically challenged fatty and the other who will be a rookie. Not that Niko is a defensive beast, but he's a 7 footer and blocks more shots than Davis with less minutes.

you can still develop players without using a gimmick like playing a guy out of position....just regulate the minutes....

And what about the losing aspect? Do you think we'd lose more with Baby at C or PF?

For me in this respect it's not about losing more games we played Baby at Center out of necessity...we don't have to do that anymore we have plenty of bodies now.....Plus if you put Baby there that's taking away development time from Vucci and Kyle.....i could be wrong IDK

id be a bit suprised if O'quinn didnt stay. i mean he Looked like atleast a Quality Backup 4/5 and More than Held his own against Drummond .

i think harper might be kept for a year or 2 to see wat hes got to offer as well as eyenga.
Harrington, Q, MCR, Hedo can all leave right now and i wouldnt care.

Didn't sound like an invite, sounded like he was asked to play 3rd string pg for some game tonight, D-league or anything going?
