theres more places saying hes 240 than 260 plus Id say its entirely possible he lost 19.5 pounds between the Combine and playing in the NBA.

it's also possible that those other sites got their information from NBA.com which was wrong in the first place....either way we'll see soon enough when Training camp starts.....

Did you see the joke an ESPN writer tweeted about Otis and Hennigan? I thought it was hilarious, like what if Otis had the sense of humor to actually do that haha.
I forgot who tweeted it, but I found the joke from another site:

“One new (GM of his team, Hennigan,) found on his desk two letters from his predecessor, (Otis), numbered 1 and 2 and to be opened in the case of the first emergency and the second.

Well, the first emergency happened.

The new leader opened the first envelope and the letter said, “Blame it all on me.” He did and his people bought it. Life went on.

A year later though, another emergency hit. He opened the second envelope and the letter said, “Now sit down and write two letters.”

Fake or real?

This is a real quote I got from a Houston Rockets forum and it was said by Morey during a radio interview on Friday. He said the package was great for us and Rob will be an unbelievable exec for us and will be around a while.

They did their diligence and kept searching for something they liked more. They liked the trade more than anything we could offer. I promise you Rob knows what he's doing. People will feel over time he is a great exec.

Serious love for Rob from Morey AND Kupchak. If other GMs are praising ours, how can anyone talk smack about him?[/quote]

I do not think it is a vote of confidence when other GM's compliment Hennigan. I mean after all, they have to do business with the guy. How much mileage do you think they would get out of denigrating Hennigan and then having to negotiate with him? It's called exercising some "diplomacy." I am sure privately Morey and Kupchak are laughing their as*es off. They are well aware we got screwed royally on the trade but for obvious reasons, can not say it publicly. There is a clear motivation here for the praise for Hennigan. However, I did not see a clear motive in the report that said the Spurs were not high on Hennigan and thought he should pursue other avenues of employment.

Hennigan got outmaneuvered and outsmarted in this trade. It is relevant to keep that in mind moving forward. Like CVMagic said in an earlier post, we DID NOT even get a lottery pick in the draft or a player who was formerly a lottery pick in the draft for one of the best players in the NBA. I do not care what kind of excuses you come up with. That is simply inexcusable.

Now I understand moving forward. Nothing can be done about it now. But it does make me wonder about future moves Hennigan makes. That is why it will remain relevant. Not trying to beat a dead horse. But Hennigan better somehow make a silk purse out of a sows ear by turning these assets we did receive in this trade into something good or we will be wondering in the mediocrity desert for quite some time.

imo we would have been in mediocrity if we took the other "deals" personally i'm indifferent about the trade.....personally i would of liked to wait a bit longer but i guess Rob and Alex felt it was the right time.....for me i can't really be angry at the deal if i don't know what the other deals were....i mean the real deal not the too good to be true deal that you see in reports.....

I'd like to see us give a camp invite to Johnny Flynn. I'm not particularly enamoured with him, but I'd see it as a low risk, high reward situation. Look at someone like Chauncey Billups, who battled injuries and struggled to learn to run an NBA offense, and had Boston, Toronto and Denver all give up on him before he'd even finished his rookie deal. He landed in Minny, who gave him a chance, showed some patience and nurtured him and he became a decent point guard. A couple of years under Larry Brown in Detroit and he became on of the best in the league at his position.

If we gave him a chance on a cheap deal and he turned into the Minnesota version of Billups, who put up 12 and 5 in 28 minutes, that would be a steal.

Well, I view Q as a SF and Harper and McRoberts as a PF, which leaves as incredebly thin on guards positions.

We need to sign back-up PG and I'd like to see Liggins in Magic uni next year (any update on this one?!). I hope Al is flipped to some other team, Q is cut or traded and (pipe dream I guess) Hedo is shown the door somehow.

Afflalo / Redick / Liggins
Harkless / Eyenga
Nicholson / McRoberts / Ayon / Harper

I can't find it right now, but I thought I read somewhere that LIggins played point guard in high school; anyone else remember this? Is Liggins a possible combo-guard?

The Magic have 15 guaranteed contracts and only one PG. Ish Smith is coming to camp but they need one more and to sched two deals.

I can obviously see Hennigan trying to move Al Harrington, Quentin Richardson and maybe Josh McRoberts and the later might have the most value as a big/expiring.

Some moves will definitely be made to pair down this roster.
