More losses = higher pick

Don't ask questions, just roll with it lol.

I'm not complaining for the losses, but how are we to develop our talent when the staff is just as new as they are to the NBA.

well, more development is done in college than pro's anyways, not a bad thing.

Gunning spent the last 4 seasons with the Rockets and wasn't James Borrego, who has experience with the Spurs, expected to be assistants?

I understand your concern. I initially didn't like the idea of Rob Murphy being assistant and then was relieved to learn he'd be a scout. We need some NBA experience on the staff.

I think just as much development is needed when coming into the pros; it's another beast. Of course, I have minimal bball playing experience, but I'd think it'd be helpful to have experience assistants teaching the youngsters and aiding in their development. Maybe that's why we're trying to keep some vets around?

Gunning did spend 4 years with the Rockets but last year was the only year he was an assistant. As for Borrego, those 7 yrs with the Spurs are great on a resume, but his only NBA coaching experience came with the Hornets the last 2 seasons.

Again, Rob & Vaughn know more than me and I trust their judgement, but it's just weird that so far (if the Borrego hire is true), our 3 coaches (1HC 2 assts) have combined for 5 yrs spent as NBA assistants...TOTAL.

Anyone else feel like this year getting drunk and watching the games will turn more into self-loathing than trash talk?

From what little I know (coworkers brother is an assistant) a lot of the development with the players is done by assistants. The head coach and the main assistant are game planners and the the rest of the assistants are given 3-4 players that they are in charge of. This is where a lot of individual development takes place. So perhaps our theory is if we have a bunch of lower assistants who are used to individual development this is the best method? I don't know the mindset just stating what I take it as.

Definitely interesting. Thanks for sharing that. That would certainly make sense with the hires and with Henningan's emphasis on player development.

depends on the kind of drunk you are.

i'm not a big drinker when watching games (mostly because they're in the morning or middle of the day over here).

but it really won't take long until people are enchanted by a few good performances from Afflalo/Nicholson/Vucevic/Harkless/KO/etc.

Is anyone else concerned as currently constructed this team wont be that bad? dont get me wrong were not a contender but with all the vets and hustle players on this team i can see us over achieving and ruining our draft pick and ending up around the 10-13 seed. i will be so mad if weve done this howard trade to suck and we end up not sucking enough. you want to pick 1-3 and if you in late lottery your just spinning your wheels and going no where fast

if i had to choose between sucking a lil this year and next Full Tank mode engaged ill be fine with it cuz Wiggins>>>>>>>>>>>Shabazz. also with a pick that late it seems to be about where the PGs currently rank meaning we might have a replacement for Jameer then
