And rooting an Android phone is basically for custom roms, modifications, enhancing alot of things. You can sideload apps from the web already when you're unrooted and stock.

It's insane how quickly these internet plans have gone through the roof. I'm glad when I got this deal through verizon about a year ago. I upgraded to the Droid Global, with an unlimited data, something which i'm told no longer exists through verizon. So i get to keep unlimited data on my phone FOREVER since it's a grandfather option, that's what we were told. So i keep paying only $39.99/mo no matter what phone i upgrade to 8-)

lol sorry to burst your bubble but they changed that. When you upgrade, they force you onto a 2 or whatever gb plan.

i was already offered an upgrade from Verizon, to the 4s or S3 and would keep my current unlimited plan.

I logged back in specifically to reply to this after I said I was done on the comp for the day. You need to chill out, it's not even that srs. Especially when nothing he said was false. iOS is known for being simpler by everyone that uses it, it's also more stable. The Android interface really only caters to tech heads and is known for becoming unresponsive, laggy, and in need of a restarts of the phone. Let us not act like the S3 is the greatest headset ever released and the Android interface is the best thing since sliced bread. Especially when the Galaxy Note 2 comes out next month which is bigger and will do everything better than the S3 because of the jellybean interface. Once that phone comes out the S3's interface will be outdated and TyCobb will be left with an outdated OS a month after just buying a new phone and will have to wait until 2013 when the jellybean is made ready for the S3.

Buying a new phone just for it to be essentially upgraded a month after you bought the phone, even though your phone is still supported is enough to piss any customer off and that's the problem with android. Whenever you get ready to buy a new phone they release a superior interface a few months after and take their sweet ass time developing that interface for the phone you just bought that by the time you get the new interface they're already prepping a newer interface for a newer phone.

But if you really want to talk about a powerhouse phone, we can. The Lumia 920 will more than likely obliterate every single phone (iphone 5, s3, galaxy note 2, anything else you want to name) when it comes out in November.

yeah i kind of tend to think that if they work out all the current bugs that ive heard with the lumia, that it will be the best smart phone on the market. but everything ive heard about windows 8 on desktops sounds just awful. just awful.

yeah, windows 8 was really only made for tablets and touchscreens but they decided to go and try and make a version for desktops. it'll do really well with devices that have touchscreens but most desktop/laptop users will probably just stick to 7. at least i will.

The config seems kind of similar for all the smart phones right about now in terms of hardware. The Nokia Lumia 920 seems pretty impressive but to be frank they just dug themselves out of a rock to even be in the competition and as always with windows the run time errors creep out once they are out into regular usage and who would be happy sharing your banking apps on a windows OS? How about the response times of the phone once windows starts releasing updates and patches?

Iphone is well vetted prior to release, the OS upgrades and patches are virtually rare and the app store still blows everything else out of the water. My Iphone 4 functions just like it was when I bought it, which makes me feel good about the reliability especially on the phone that I use 24/7.

I'll just update my OS and stick to Iphone 4, there's nothing really groundbreaking with the new phone. Its not like I run memory intensive apps to make use of the new A6 processor and upgraded memory.

I'll upgrade my phone when my hardware does not support the latest OS

I don't have a iPhone.

The iPod touch does everything an iPhone does minus the phone calls.
It does have FaceTime which is linked through the Internet. An browsing the Internet is pretty nice on the touch.
It's a mini IPad and for 50 bucks more it's a no brainer IMO.

Never was a fan of the nano, if you wanted a iPod that just plays music might as well save the extra $100 bucks and buy a iPod shuffle for $50

My cousin just bought a Samsung Nexus tablet and he was trying to say it was better than my Ipad 3.

Not impressed at all. LoL

There's a reason people came away from the Lumia presentation very pleased and liked WP8 a whole hell of a lot more than the iOS. But as far as the OS of Windows 8, it's not even out yet and won't come out until October 26th to tablets and of course when the phone comes out in November. I don't think it's wise to just assume that those bugs will be apart of WP8 but if they are I suppose you have to take bad along with the good as long as the good outweighs the bad, and WP8 is shaping up to be better than iOS. But who knows, maybe they've found a way to improve functionality, WP8 seems like a total revamp when compared to WP7.5. Unlike the iOS6 which only has a few more features than iOS5.

And yeah like I said on a later page, if you got a 4 or 4S there's no need to buy the new phone. But Apple hasn't created anything innovative in quite a while and is always looking to steal designs/parts of interfaces and sue other companies when they feel it's had something stolen from them. People having to pay full price for a phone that's been half-assed compared to other phones that are/will be on the market later this year isn't smart. And Apple is constantly behind the 8 ball and today it showed. This phone is not going to do as well as forecasted and OS6 can't save it.
