I agree. A good example to fall back on is the '96 draft which had Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash. Yet Allen Iverson won the ROY award.

As a Blazer fan, I still think Davis is the favorite to win.

Lillard is going to be constantly looked at to prove the award is his, and the moment he falters, it will default back to Davis. If Lillard can stay consistent all season long, maybe he sneaks by Davis with a few more votes.

Terrence Jones had another good showing tonight.

I was really impressed with Jones' handles last night. I knew the kid could do the work around the rim, but what really got him over the top was his quickness running the floor, and his ability to snag a rebound and take it right down court.

It appears to me that Anthony Davis has a conditioning issue. Numerous times this preseason, he has started a game where I said wow, he could go 40 and 20 type ridiculous. And then in the second half, he struggles running the court and hustling for the rebounds he was getting with ease earlier. 7 rebounds in the first quarter alone last night. And he finished with only 8 rebounds for the game.

Greivas Vasquez continues to really hurt the flow of this team. 8 more turnovers last night. A couple of easy alley oops to Davis that were way off. I'm pretty sure I could alley oop to AD. By far the most dissappointing Hornet, counting the days until Eric Gordon gets out there.

Austin River is out of the walking boot already and doing strengthening exercises on his ankle. Doesn't sound like he will be out for an extended period of time.

Anthony Davis hasn't been as great as I thought he would, though I guess I did have some pretty unrealistic expectations for him.

Only two of his game were on TV
No one should have expected him to score in his rookie season (seriously, he was the 5th option on Kentucky)

I think there's been enough talk about him.

MGK has been bad. You don't draft a role player at #2, Charlotte messed up IMO.

My early vote is that Charlotte, Cleveland and Sacramento will be kicking themselves for their picks.

I think MKG will be Luol Deng good if he learns how to shoot and I think Deng is a really good player so I'm not sure it's a bad pick. If MKG doesn't learn how to shoot though, he may be limited to Ronnie Brewer level offense which would be pretty horrible for a #2 pick.

Harrison has his flaws (rebounding/creating) and looks a little lost out there offensively, but he's got two strengths to his game and the warriors arent asking him to do too much at this point since the team is loaded with scorers..

1. He's shooting 48% from 3.

2. His defense is coming along nicely. He's athletic with great size for a SF. Barnes puts a lot of effort into it.

If you knew anything at all about the Bobcats, Dunlap is evaluating lineups deciding who should make the roster, resulting in erratic minutes for MKG. He plays for 2 minutes, subbed out, plays for 4 minutes, subbed out, etc. Of course he isn't going to get in a rhythm like another rookie who plays 18 straight minutes and 30 minutes overall.

Lets wait til the regular season before determining busts. Kemba already looks much better with actual coaching this season

I like this kid mostly because of his off court story. A physics major?

I don't like the way his teammates were laughing at him @ 6:30 in the video. Guess it's just part of being a rookie?

I liked MKG during and after the draft, but yea, he is struggling so far in preseason. His offence does not seem to be going great against NBA bodies right now. In summer league he looked great when he got to be The Man, but he is having trouble getting his right now while fitting in with his teammates who have more seniority. Also, he is getting yanked around as the Bobcats fan here said.

I find it hysterical that people are calling rookies busts who haven't played a single regular season game much less a full season. Are these people's expectations so high they think every no. 1 pick has to be an immediate superstar even though there 's plenty of star players who did almost zero their rookie years? At the very least I expect MKG to be a good player, but I think he can be more than that. Give him time. speaking as a Bucks fan, I'd take him over Henson, and I think Henson can be a very good player.

And you certainly cannot make out the final verdict based on 5 to 6 pre season games. Javale McGee is an explosive highly athletic athlete also. Five years now and on his second team. I don't think I'd want to wait that long for my top 4 or 5 pick to "get it." He's a steal for Detroit at 9 but they're going to have to be patient with him.

Excpet JaVale McGee is a selfish idiot that doesn't have the intangibles to reach his potential. Even if Drummond does reach his potential, he could still be a starting C IMO for a winning team. Can't say the same for McGee.

Pretty easily I think Drummond ends up on Jordan/McGee level. I also have thought his BBIQ looks a little better, so surpassing them would not surprise me either. Also, both Jordan and McGee are starting centers for winning teams, so I have no worries about Drummond holding up in that role. Top 10 center is my prediction, and while he might have the tools to be top 5, unlike others, I don't think he will.

MKG is one of those players that wont instantly impact the NBA. He is the youngest player in the NBA isn't he? I would not take his rookie year to be definitive of where he ends up - a couple years seasoning, and with his work ethic and BBIQ, I expect big strides from him in years 2, 3 and 4. He was definitely taken with long term development in mind.

MKG is glue guy. It's hard to look great when there's nobody to glue together.

Why Sacramento? I thought they made a great pick since a lot of people thought Robinson was going second, and he fell in their laps at 5.
