Is Austin Rivers gonna be the next young player to have glass ankles?

Anthony Davis' touch and hand-eye coordination are absolutely ridiculous.

Aw crap, Austin Rivers and Eric Gordon are probably never going to play in the same game for the next four years.
investigate Adam Silver

After this preseason I feel that Drummond isn't even half as raw as he was made out to be. A lot of people around here and sports analysts made him out to be a Bismack Biyombo carbon copy. No offensive skill whatsover and poor BBIQ but solid shot blocking skills. I think this preseason has put a rest to that...and I know it's just the preseason, but you can still objectively look at the skills he showcased and realize that he really isn't that raw. He is a good finisher already and he's diciplined on D...what he really needs is to now learn how to box out, shoot FTs and develop a low post game.
He almost doesn't even need to box out to get boards because he's so long and can jump so high. 10 rebs in 19 min tonight as is. If he mastered the art of boxing out though, he could lead the league in rebounding one day.

Drummond just needs to reduce his fouls.

^yeah, that'll come with time as he gets more respect from the refs. Right now the coach's are asking him to protect the rim, which is hard to do and avoid getting called for fouls when your a rookie.
His preseason stats for the 6 games he got significant PT:
12 pts, 8 rebs, 2 blks on 65% FG in 20 min
PER 36 that would be 21 pts, 14 rebs, and 3 blks.

Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread
I was totally wrong about Drummonad. This kid has what it takes.
Which is really wierd, cause i've really watched and paid attention to him in Uconn, and the kid looked NOTHING like this. I mean sure you had the obvious physical gifts and all, but seriously, I doubt anyone who watched him extensively would think he'd blow up like this in the next level (I personally had him as eventually reaching DeAndre Jordan last year level, with the same or bigger learning curve - in his minutes so far he looks that right now.)
Kudos for the kid. I've been down on him pre-draft, but right now I would kill to have him on the Kings next to DeMarcus.

I think the NBA spacing has really helped Drummond. He is still pretty raw offensively but he is slipping into position more easily where he can score get O-boards, which he was actually pretty good at in college. Thats helping both his scoring and rebounding numbers, and it makes him look more active as well. Definitely looking good early.

When I watched his high school mixtapes, I saw a player that was tailor made for the NBA, but not the college game, which is more structured/fundamental. Whereas Drummond plays more instinctual/athletic, which is what the NBA game is all about. I would normally never put any stock in mixtapes or high school highlights, but in his case I figured at his size and athleticism, he was still going to be bigger and more athletic than 90% of the players in the NBA. So I was pretty confident that he could translate those highlights into NBA games. Because even though he was much bigger/athletic than the high school competition, he is much bigger/athletic than most NBA players as well.

You can doubt me but I did. I was on the AD1 wagon the second I saw him play the passing lane like Gerald Wallace and take one down the floor and jam, leaving everybody in the dust. Other team's guards didn't even bother trying to chase him down, he's that fast. That UConn team last year was a perfect storm of basketball dysfunction, I knew all the skills he displayed in HS didn't simply disappear.
Kudos for admitting you were wrong though, it happens to the best of us.
How has Beal looked for the Wiz so far?

Started strong, but looked more and more like a 19 year old with each passing game, culminating in a pretty awful performance against the Spurs.
Very excited to see him play with Wall, but he could struggle without someone else that can create. Right now the weakest part of his game by far is his inability to put the ball on the floor.
