I would not be surprised if the Rockets call up the Jazz and offer up 2 of their prospects for Milsap. Milsap won't sign an extension with the Jazz and he's going to become a UFA at the end of the season....which means that the Jazz could lose him for nothing. I can see the Rockets calling up the Jazz and tell them the same story that the told the Thunder.....you can get something before losing Milsap for nothing.

James Harden and Houston won in this deal. Harden will start, play 35 minutes a game, put up very good numbers, get all star appearances, endorsement deals and get a max contract on his NEXT contract after this one instead of half that because he was coming off the bench for four years.

Houston gets an all star player to go along side a gate attraction guy in Lin, PLUS they still have assets in young big men and picks to be able to move for a top 20 guy. depending on who they can get, they can be in contention in a few years. Houston had trouble getting that first big name guy to come there because no one wants to be the first free agent going somewhere hoping the team can sign someone else, now with Harden in the fold it will be easier to convince a talented free agent or expiring player to join him.

The deal was Westbrook + Ibaka + filler for a year rental of Howard. It was pure **** for the Thunder.

Harden alone >>> anything Olrando got for Howard.

And if you're losing Harden anyway, might as well go all in for one year and nix the Lakers deal in the process. And maybe Howard stays after winning a chip.

I thought in order to get the full max you had to have played a certain amount of years or if not played the X amount of years, had at least 2 ASG or All-NBA selections, or won an MVP.

As a Thunder fan, I'm terribly not convinced the the Thunder are better than the Spurs at this point.

Next season, Cody Zeller might not be the top pick but he would be perfect for them. My point is they can move up in the draft or they can use the picks along with Martin to get a good player.

Josh Smith is what would be most doable. He would make a huge difference on the Thunder.

I think this is a big win for Houston. They were about to get exposed big time having Lin as their franchise star player. Harden on the other hand is ready for that role and talented enough to produce while taking alot of the pressure off Lin.

Thats the main problem I had with the trade, as for what they got it wasn't too bad they have a lot of options now for players they could acquire.

And they still should have enough money to sign a player to a max contract next summer to team with Harden.

Harden is the 3rd best shooting guard in the league and is a Top 15 player at only 23. Harden also didn't spend the better part of a year tanking his own trade value.

What is to prevent OKC from letting Martin go after the season, amnestying Kendrick Perkins, and agreeing to pay the max for Dwight Howard?

If not him, there is also Andrew Bynum.

Woudn't this be possible?
