Crowder is just picking up were he left off in summer league.

Looking like a steal right now.

Crowder has looked real nice. It seems some of the better teams in the league have gotten nice additions to their roster late in the draft. Celtics with Sullinger, Thunder with Jones, and Mavericks with Crowder.

He looked great 1v1 on defense, but he slacked off his man too much playing off ball.

He had 3 steals and was aggressive on D, did you watch the game?

wait, what? :o

his on-ball defense was excellent. his off-ball defense is a work in progress, but it wasn't that bad, and there surely wasn't a lack of effort.

did you even watch the game?

Lmao at everyone who said Cavs will regret taking Waiters.

No one knows how he or any of the other rookies will turn out.

Please, let's STOP pretending we know more than scouts/GMs.

hey, I live in France (for 8 months now) so it's tough following games.

Can someone tell me how B. Beal has been looking? I'm a fan of his game. Has anyone been straight up dominant offensively?
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

For the most part Beal had a pretty good preseason but he has a tendency to defer far to often. If he gets his shot blocked or misses a shot badly, he kind of just disappears. He hasn't been dominant but the good news is, he rebounds and passes the ball well.

Last night was a perfect example of this. He got burned on defense a few times, missed a wide open pull up and just quit offensively. With that said, he still pulled down 3 rebounds and logged 3 assists in 21 minutes.

I watched the Cavs game in chunks. So I admit I missed plenty. But I thought Waiters looked like an inefficient chucker. He took some HORRIBLE shots. At least he was comfortable out on the floor; I don't even think you can say that about Beal. Color me unimpressed on both.

Ehh, my position hasn't changed on Waiters and Beal. I still think Waiters is a reach and Beal will be a very good player if short of star status.

Remember, Kyrie Irving got shut down by Jose Calderon last year on opening night.

Waiters played great.

Got to the rim at will even though he didn't finish some easy ones. Kept the ball moving , Despite having 0 assists he made some really nice passes that guys missed or either got to the foul line. Harassed Beal on the perimeter , His ball handling is suspect.

Cavs bench blew a 18 point lead and was down 1. Waiters comes in and drains a big 3 to get things going back their way.

Couldn't realistically ask much more for your rookie game 1

Tyler Zeller had a quite 5 points....

In all seriousness- I like Waiters- so it's nice to see him put up solid numbers in his NBA debut. However- his shot selection was shotty and the Wizards couldn't defend anyone in an elevator. The jury is still out on Waiters of course- but I'm hoping he has a good year/career.
OKC Thunder fan, too.

Zeller is in desperate need of some additional strength. On consecutive plays he had a ball taken away from him and then a rebound taken away all because he couldn't hold on.

I have a hard time actually agreeing that Calderon could actually shut down Kyrie, but the fact remains that Kyrie had his 2 worst games of the year (by far) against Toronto.

Sad that people have to put in a mostly inaccurate "but....." instead of just just giving Dion props, while in the same post making excuses for Beal.

Beals problem is that he's "passive"? Ok so how can he be more aggressive? he's not a guy that can do things with the ball like Waiters, or rise up over people and nail jumpers in their face.
