All Star Game Voting Update

Post#1 » by Ace Villa » Wed May 30, 2007 6:21 am

Not surprisingly, several of our very own Milwaukee Brewers are in the running for the all star team. Here are some of the races pertaining more to us Brewers fans.

I heard these on the radio tonight. They're as of yesterday:

Catcher
1. Lo Duca
2. McCann
3. Estrada

1st Base
1. Pujols
2. Fielder

2nd Base
1. Utley
2. Biggio
3. Weeks

SS
1. Reyes
2. Hardy

OF
8. Hall
9. Jenkins
13. Hart

These all seem about right to me, with the exception of Pujols over Fielder. Fielder has clearly had a much better year, with a much better team, but come on, Pujols is going to get a ton of votes regardless of how he plays.

It's pretty good odds that at this point, both Hardy and Fielder will get in. Coco as well. As for the rest of the team...not so much.

I'm shocked Graffanino and Counsell aren't in the top 5 for 3rd base.

Why is weeks even getting votes? Same with hall, they don't deserve it. I agree with you, fielder, hardy and coco will make it. I don't know about the rest of the team though. How do you all feel about fielder entering the home run derby? It always messed Carlos Lee up but would it mess fielder up? I don't think it would.

i agree that it wouldn't mess with prince's swing as much...i mean that jack against smoltz last night was basically a derby swing. but i still don't wanna take the chance.

here is the whole list

the reason why Weeks, Hall, EStrada and all the other Brewesr are so high in voting is because of their record and the media coverage they are getting.

its really annoying that with the year Pujols is having, Prince is still 2nd in voting, i know that pujols is far more popular with the average MLB fan, but look at the stats....

Fielder
.293 19 HR 43 RBI 36 Runs
Pujols
.295 9 HR 28 RBI 29 Runs
