I actually don't mind him giving information provided it was good information. The fact that he's actually joined the site to give bad information seems pretty pathetic IMO

So is the pick lottery protected or not?

It does not matter if the pick is lotto protected or not, the Lakers are not missing the Playoffs.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

The team we should be watching is the Kings. If the Kings end up with #14 or worse we will have 3 1st rd picks in 2013. If they are #13 or higher then we only have 2. With the Lakers pick(low to middle 20's) it most likely will be swaped for Heats pick(upper 20's). I predict we end up with #5, #18 & # 23.

Are you saying you think the Kings are only going to have the 18th worst record? Have you watched that "team"? We are going to be lucky to see that pick in the next 3 years.

Yeah the kings are going no where fast. We will never see that pick. I think it eventually turns into ansecond rounder which we will most likely end up with.

Lakers lost again yesterday, pick could easily be in the teens. :)

Pretty remarkable that we might not ever see that pick. after a year or so it isn't even lottery protected anymore. It has decreasing protection, but I'm wondering if they'll ever be decent enough that we'll see it.

Our best case scenario is that the lakers qualify around 6th or 7th in the west, and finish at near pick 21.

The Kings pick is so crazy, cause they probably will be a bottom 10 team the next 2 seasons. To get the pick in the next two years, they'd have to win about 38 or so games. They've done that one time in the past 6 years. The following two years when it's top 10 protected, it seems like they'd need to be in the 35 win range. They've done that twice in the past 6 years. Unless they get a #1 overall franchise type guy, I can't see their trend of 25 win seasons changing.

Looks like Ben at RCF was wrong about the Lakers pick protection. The pick is protected like Realgm says it is. My apologies to those that I told were incorrect in this thread about the protection.

Still looking to be in good position with that pick though. :)

I'm really hoping the Lakers don't figure it out until they've racked up at least 25 or so losses.

Thanks for clearing this up

I don't understand why the Lakers are losing so much.. How did they lose to the Magic at home?
