Chicago has a "pick watch" on the pick that we owe them. Most of them think that they are going to get it this year, or that when they do get it that it will be some extravagant pick.

I thought the protection on the pick stayed the same (top 12) until 2016 where it would be unprotected? Might be wrong.

You're right. Completely misread this as DET 1st. I'd be okay with getting it this year or next.

I seen that last week and decided to ignore it but it does hold some weight. I would much rather give Chicago this year's late 1st rounder than the latter years. I believe out of the 2013, 2014, and 2015 draft classes that the 2013 class will be the weakest.

All Bobcats fans should have their TVs on pre-channel to observe Shabazz Muhammad when the game against the Bucks is on commercial or halftime tonight. #13 UCLA vs Georgetown @ 8pm ET on ESPN2

Tuned into the game right when bazz came in. So the nasty step back j and some good plays by josh Smith and other guys but fell asleep at about 9. How did he look.

He looked okay, but who is this Otto Porter cat? He stole the show a little bit didn't he? Nbadraft.net has him #7 this summer.

Otto Porter is a good player but I don't think we should consider him unless we have an expendable late lottery pick and he's the best player available. His skill set is kind of similar to MKG's at SF as a great defender with a iffy jump shot.

Jumper is better than you think shot 64% from 2 22% from 3 last year… Having watched him play tons it’s more due to his youth and lack of stregth for the 22% mark. He was money from the 15-18ft range so you can see how it would plausible. I expect those number to go up 10-15% from 3 this year. We will see though..

Agree that he is not a good fit for you guys considering MKG already being here...

Only thing I heard about porter is he could be a liliard type dark horse. I love the name Otto though.

As a avid watcher of Big East basketball, I've seen enough of Otto Porter to know that he has a decent midrange jumper, but it will be much harder to get a good look at that shot on the pro level being that he isn't the best creator off the dribble. However, Porter will be very difficult at the SF position to defend in the post. His game kind of remind me of Kawhi Leonard's

Porter is an interesting prospect though. Tall, gangly, long armed, skilled. He's definitely what you would call the new age NBA player. He's intriguing and could be really good if he wanted to

Shabazz Muhammad is looking like the real deal so far in his first 2 games with solid scoring numbers.

I know we previously mentioned Otto Porter, and he will be playing against the consensus top 3 pick Cody Zeller tonight @ 10pm ET when Georgetown face Indiana on ESPN

Watching the game, Otto Porter has been as good as advertised, like a Jeff Green/Kawhi Leonard hybrid. He could make for a valuable reserve player for the 'Cats if he's the BPA when they select. Cody Zeller on the other hand, looks like a good college basketball player that will never amount into a all-star caliber player at the pro level. I'll give him maybe a Chris Kaman-like career at best minus the injuries. I don't think that's worth tanking for, especially considering that Byron Mullens can give them that same type of productivity within his rapid development and growth into a physical big man under Dunlap's tutelage

Feel the same about zeller. My top 3 is now shabazz, Noel, and Adams in that order. Adams could be a top 5 pick. He said he's staying but didn't mkg say the same thing.

Fellas I am really starting to think that we will not have a top four pick.

It's kind of a bummer but then I remember we still have the DET 1st.

That pick is protected, there's no way in hell we'll see that this year. Detroit is pitiful and they're most likely going to see a lotto pick this year unfortunately
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

Oh I know, but I don't want it this year. It's top 8 in 2014 and top 1 in 2015. If DET continues on there path it could be a fantastic pick in 2015.

That would still allow us to have our core of MKG, Kemba, Biz intact while adding what may be our super star scorer.

Honestly, Detroit isn't that bad off. A lotto pick this year get's them a good scorer, and if they can sign some veteran depth, they're an OK team. Maybe we see that pick in 2014?
