All this debate will end once OKC and Heat go up against one another. BRING IT ON OKCC

As I said; the irony is strong.

of the 13 games that Miami have played 7 have been against so called "superior" western conference teams and 2 of the east conference teams they have played were boston and new york so that means they have played 4 "weak" eastern conference teams so far

Durant with 37/7/4 on 71 TS%, should put him above LeBron in PER when it updates

Didn't meet the eye test.

Btw; Durant is at 50/90/40 now with a ts% in the range of 64-65.

Is Brooks playing Durant crazy minutes to try to get him the MVP. Insane.

Now that LeBrons statistical advantages have been surmounted has the argument shifted to Durant playing too many minutes to be MVP?

It's too early to call. But I'm sure the head to head matchup between them will settle this

No ones been claiming that he's been playing "crazy minutes" the past 4 seasons. But now he is?

Durant career minutes/game: 38

Durant current minutes/game: 39

SCOTT BROOKS IS PLAYING THE **** OUT OF DURANT FOR THIS MVP

Also, Durant is pulling off a 50/40/90 season so far as a huge volume scorer. I don't think people understand how crazy that is

EDIT: It's only been done by one person in NBA history, Larry Bird. Holy ****

He puts him back in in the 2nd quarter when the other team goes on a run (no matter how short it is) and plays him the entire 2nd half about every other game.

He's playing one minute over his career average, calm down.

The MVP is Durant's to lose. LeBron is the better player but the media is not going to give LeBron his 4th MVP unless he plays considerably better then Durant or his team has a significantly higher seed or better record.

If two games out of 82 settle the MVP race, the award is f-ing stupid.

His career minutes have also been high. Brooks has always ridding West and Durant heavy and he seems to be doing so even more now. KD played 7 more minutes than anyone else on his team...in a blowout. 43 mins.

Lebron career minutes/game: 40

Durant's playing high minutes because the Thunder have moved to a 9-man rotation this year instead of a 10-man. They'll probably go back to a 10-man at some point but Brooks doesn't trust Perry Jones. Tonight, Thabeet was involved in tussle which is why I assume he was kept out of the game until the end, so Collison played C for awhile with Durant at PF.

He's only a minute or so more per game than last year, not much to worry about and I doubt it lasts the whole year.

Durant has played way way more minutes than LeBron so far.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/lea ... aders.html

Not to say numbers and stats don't matter but it should be taken into consideration before only using stats. Plus I don't think LeBron should be penalized for being a good passer and getting his teamates involved. That's part of the MVP award..making your teammates better.

LeBron is the only non point guard in the top 20 for assists.

I do think it's really close between them right now. Durant has gotten quite a bit better than the last couple of years for sure. His high free throws are suspect though..

Durant's Minutes Last 5 years in a random order

39.0 - 38.6 - 39.1 - 38.9 - 39.5

The only things thats changing is Durant is getting better
