Gotta be the lock down D. That what this team has to be about first and foremost. That is the great equalizer and this team needs to bring that because that is mostly how it is constructed right now.

Trevor A and Singleton have to lock down on Melo and Novak.

Kevin S needs to bring his big boy paints and grab boards and clear some space. And offensively he needs to give Chandler something to worry about.

And they need to go light on the unproven young players like Ves and Beal.

More Webster. More Livingston. And Nene needs to have a monster game.

Its kick NY's rss week. Starts here. Ends Monday night.

If Beal is in there to close the game, Randy is lost. He would have to have one monster of a game in the 2nd and 3rd quarters for me to even consider letting him sniff the floor to close out a tight game right now. Kid just isn't ready for that kind of pressure yet. They need to take it easier on him. Lean on Webster and Crawford instead.

Closing line ups should involve something like

Livingston
Crawford or Webster
Trevor A
Nene
Kevin or Okafor

Maybe Singleton in there depending on what is needed and how he is playing. And maybe Price if it is a defensive last stand. Actually Beal plays decent D. I might have him in for a defensive last stand if Webster isn't covering well. But not on offense.

Thats it.

Is booker out? He's probably the best defensively against Melo...I remember he got robbed on a call last year against him

^ Didn't Singleton defend Melo well one time? Overall I like our chances.

Beal gonna drop 50 points tonight. Word is they finally are giving him a gallon of RedBull to hype him up, plus 2 lines of cocaina (left over from Blatche's locker).

No. Singleton got pwn3d. It was Booker who stepped in and contained him.

Melo might score 40 points tonight. I hope Beal steps up tonight and finally has a big game.

Singleton has luckily added some girth this year so he may be a bit better suited then last season. He's really the best defender we have against hybrid Fs and juggernauts like LBJ and Melo. It'll really just come down to which team is hitting the three ball I think.

We should be able to punish them inside as Chandler is really their on lowpost presence but I have a feeling he's going to get away with murder against us. Novak will probably **** on us.

When Singleton got owned by Melo last season it was in January. He's gotten a lot better... I think he will make life a little more difficult. I sill think Melo gets 40, but maybe Singleton can force him into taking a lot of shots to get to 40.

Anyway, we should lose by 20. I think we got blown out by 40 last game in the Garden

Shumpert being out is probably a net benefit to the Knicks.

nuposse please don't ever use the phrase "Singleton has added some girth" again.
