Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
I think you guys are fooling yourselves if you think Bynum won't get the max. The max isn't what it once was. This year's Free agency doesn't have a whole lot of great players and good centers are a highly prized priority in this league.

We get Bynum/Turner/Moultrie/future 1st.
The King (OTTB) is dead.... long live the king.
I dont think we have as much leverage in trade land as what is needed to pull off a lopsided headshaker.
TheG is the most marketable piece, but other than Boston, I dont see much demand for him. And I would be surprised if they would part with Sullinger, who fell into their laps late in the draft. I dont know enough about Avery, but his size is the main knock.
I would hesitate on any effort to acquire Bynum. We need to revamp this squad mentally as much as physically, for we are in sore need of a hard nosed leader or two. Bid on him next yr if you must. But keep in mind, he lacks the heart to be as good as he could be. BTW, doesnt Philly run with Hawes most of the time ?
I dont think we should trade JDud just yet. Not unless he brings back some real value. And Frye ? Again, what is the scenario if he can never play again ? Has there been any word on his situation ?
I dont know what this Front Orfice can do. It seems like we have taken a step back and once again are dealing to make up for the past few 'bad moves'. It does seem like something is up with theG though. Is he just going through the motions because of an imminent trade, or a desire to be moved ?
I do think we will reach out to Iguodala in free agency. Dangling a long term deal would perhaps tempt him out into the market. The pickens are slim.
What ? Me Worry ?

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
O'neal is old and probably not going to hold up.... but is clearly the best and most useful C. on this team. That being said, I would trade Gortat if it brought back a real 2 guard and young prospects, and try to add in Shannon Brown in any deal since his non full garenteed contract for next year is not such a bad trade chip. I would not trade Duds, he looked like the old Duds playing Sf. last game and that is how he should be used to maximize his impact.
I am not sold on Bradley being a good peice coming back, two shoulder operations, on an undersized combo guard.... not too promising. I like that today I have come on here and see some trade options I havent seen before, If we could come out of this seasons tades with Lamb PJ III and like Fab Melo and keep our picks to deal with going ahead, I would be atleast encouraged.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
So, yeah.... basically Kerrsed's deal, but they get to keep Bradley, and we keep Duds. But in that deal, I dont see why OKC does that deal. I think OKC would atleast need to rid themselves of Perk for a diffrent C. and or would as is want to take Oneal for a championship run seeing as how he is playing.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
I was high on the Thunder deals earlier...
Also was high on the Celtics with Sullinger and Avery as Suns were Woking on a sweetener to get Avery.
But Gortat's lack of production as of late has raised concerns.

You guys are 'piping' if you think there is a deal with OKC....
You want to explain why they'd do anything with us again ?

Maybe the Bobcats for Detroit's pick and Henderson? Haywood has done OK for them but I think Gortat could push them forward.

I'm not sure, they were looking really good before this long losing streak.

This is actually a very good point. All the OKC fans I talk to (not much) like Perkins even if he may not be that visible on the stat sheet.
He brings leadership, toughness and championship experience to that roster. They value those things a lot from Perkins. Also, Perkins supposedly is the one that calms Westbrook down when he goes on one of his shot happy streaks and when he complains about shots.
I don't think OKC wants to get rid of Perkins as much as people think they do.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
Gortat at the start putting up 12-13ppg 10rpg 3bpg was very appealing.
Then he b!tched and now sooking and playing with 60-65% effort.
Would be lucky if some team offers a pick 10-15 for him,..
He wants out?
Then he better play harder so suns can ship his ass out according to his value.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
Still hoping the Sully/Lee/1st is on the table for Gortat. He's either out of form or knows he's getting traded come Dec 15. Please be the latter.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
It has been rumoured that there are some discussions about Gortat with Boston and that they want to send in an offer as soon the trade restrictions are lifted.
Hill on Nash going to the Lakers: “That’s like transferring from Duke and going to Carolina.”

Let's hope so. I just don't wan't Lee in the deal (long term salary) unless they wan't to take Beasley (which is highly doubtful).

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
We have to include either Bass, Green or Lee in a potential deal to match up salary. From that group, Lee is definitley the most useful player with the best contract (and he already played with Goran and Scola). But I would decline any potential deal if Bradley is not included. Can't trade Gortat for a package headlined by Jared Sullinger.

I'd say there is near on no chance Bradley is going anywhere. Boston rate him really highly and his contract would mean we would also have to take Bass/Green/Lee too and it's really hard to see that happening.

Re: Official Trade Thread: Part 3
I dont know what you expect from Boston. Its Lee, Terry, or Bass + someone/piece else.... but one of those three has to be a part to make the numbers jive.
Not too appealing return for a starting center.... even if Sullinger is included.
I think we are better off keeping theGORTAT. His value wont sink any further.... we can appease his cry-me-a-trade tune with the promise of an off season move. I'd still prefer to keep him rather than deal him just to deal.
I would do ONeal + a pick for Sullinger straight up. I think he'd fit in Boston better and could run 20-25mins a night for them. You can bet next yr when the money is dangled for his final 1-2 yr deal, he will take it and run... away. Get something for him now, and keep theG.
