Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
There is still the FA cup, the Europa League, and a champions league spot up for grabs. The season can still be saved.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
I'll be happy with a top 4 finish this season.
Meanwhile...
I understand their frustration, but the club should talk to them about how to deal with the media, Piazon especially considering he's barely a first team player.
Meanwhile...
Fernando Duarte @Fernando_Duarte
Also, a TV Globo reporter eavesdropped on Oscar moaning about Benitez. A hard rain's gonna fall at CFC
Fernando Duarte @Fernando_Duarte
Piazon has lashed out on team mates, saying that most of them had no guts to play a final

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
If Cheese gets Falcao, im almost certain he would break the EPL record for most goals scored in a season

You mean Burak Yilmaz right? Not Falcao..
Falcao would score probably 20+ but Yilmaz will score at least 30.

Looks good but the thing with adidas is that the shirts don't look too much different from season to season.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
Wow, did they ever look good yesterday. It's amazing what a couple big scoring games like that can do for the team's confidence.
For Chelsea fans who believe in Lukaku's upside... he netted his 6th goal for West Brom this weekend. Pretty impressive for a prospect whose best days are without question in front of him. He doesn't possess elite touch but his speed, power, and ability to make plays in the air are all very Drogba-esque.
He wants to stay out on loan at West Brom next season. I think Chelsea would be wise to let him do that and then at age 21... suddenly we'll have the option of bringing back one of the league's better young strikers, or perhaps doing something else with him. The fact that he and Hazard are both on team Belgium can only help.
Mata has quietly become the heart and soul of this new modern Chelsea squad, IMO. He somewhat reminds me of Jose Calderon too.

Trade him while his value is up
In all seriousness he does seem to be that kind of leader for this team (not necessarily vocal but the type of player that gives his all every game which his teammates feed off of). Can't hate Benitez when the team produces. I know it was the reporter that asked him about life after Chelsea (stupid thing to ask) but I would have expected him to be a little bit more coy than to simply start naming clubs. The work he's doing here isn't so bad; I'd expect him to turn the focus back onto that.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
We only beat Norsjaelland, Sunderland, Monterray, Leeds and Aston Villa. I'll reserve my judgment on Benitez for now, but it's always nice to score in bunches

What an absolutely embarrassing effort today. QPR? Really!? Bring on Demba Ba. Would have felt better knowing we had a substitution like him available for a change of pace (if not outright starting over Torres).

Good stuff from Chalobah. Successful loans for a change for Chalobah, McEachran, Courtois, De Bruyne and Lukaku.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
Watching the highlights of the game yesterday, Marin was twice lucky to escape getting sent off. Luiz seems to be growing into the role of a midfielder, he's even making those Lampard-like late runs into the box and taking his shots on.
Except for latching onto through balls with pace, Torres still seems like the same player to me every time I watch him.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
Yeah Torres still runs into people and loses the ball every time.
Btw, Lamps' agent announces this will be Lamps' last season at Chelsea. Shame.
Update: It could be that the Italian made up the quote.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
If you have time, do watch MOTD highlights of the Reading - West Brom game. Good game + some great plays by Lukaku. Scored 2 but could have more.

Re: Official Chelsea FC Thread
^Just watched it now and he did look very impressive, can't wait for him next year and stick Torres as our 3rd striker.
Also, didn't watch the match today because of work but from the MOTD highlights some of the plays that Ba made I can't imagine Torres ever doing in a Chelsea shirt ever

David Beckham’s son Brooklyn has trial with Chelsea
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more- ... -1.1245659
People familiar with the situation say David Beckham’s son is having a tryout with London soccer club Chelsea.
Brooklyn Beckham was spotted with his father at a Chelsea academy game Tuesday.
The people confirmed details of the 13-year-old Brooklyn’s tryout on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the teenager’s activities.
The Daily Mail newspaper’s website first reported the news Wednesday. Top pro teams routinely sign talented young players to their youth academies.
A former England captain, David Beckham has moved back to London with his family after opting to leave Major League Soccer’s Los Angeles Galaxy last month.
Brooklyn still appears on the Galaxy website as being on the under-14 squad.
David Beckham is currently mulling offers from clubs around the world.
