Lions @ Cards, 4:05

Post#1 » by ajaX82 » Sat Dec 15, 2012 9:11 pm

Late start in this one. For a team in desperate need of a win, we get the reeling, awful awful Cardinals. I think Lindley is starting, which means we have a shot at a shutout.

Looks like an easy win. Losing should get Schwartz fired on the plane back to Detroit.

Like I wrote in the preview, if you are in the camp that wants major offseason changes you want the Lions to stink up the joint. And they might...

But I really think the defensive front is going to have some fun, even with Fairley likely not playing.

It's hard to root against the team, and I won't, but the temptation of a major shake-up and higher pick won't make me cry if we lose

Nothing like being down 14 and watching Stafford somehow continue to regress

Entire coaching staff should be canned. Seriously. Tonight

i hate being happy that our team lost to the worst team in the league, but we are one step closer to a higher draft pick and hopefully this is going to force some sort of move on our coaching staff. Stafford needs to put in major work in this offseason.

Can someone give me a break down of the game

where we shined and where we didn't. Looking at the score looks like all our highlights is Hanson and harris kicking

At minimum, this putrid effort will force Schwartz to answer some hard questions about why his players continue to make the same mistakes every damn game.

Does the fact that we continue to lose change who we draft as our pick gets higher. like at what point do we go with BPA vs Addressing a need? is it a tier system?

I would take a RB if there was like the next AP in the draft, regardless of the needs on defense. The chance to pair CJ with a RB of that caliber would be something you have to take advantage of. But I don't see a RB like that in this draft.

I think definitely go defense, whether its a LB or DB I think we could use major upgrades at both. Obv more at DB, but unless its a sure future HOF I'm not big on taking DBs that high in the draft. And there doesn't seem to be any projected in the top 3 like that.

I actually believe Mathieu has HOF talent, and he will be there in the 2nd round. So I would go LB at 3 and then Mathieu in the 2nd round.

Question is how high are the lions on Bentley, green and Green wood. If we can retain houston and have one of those three be at least half decent. i'd go Teo at 3, DE at three and Matheiu at 3. i think he can at least be decent and if worst comes to worst, be special teams specialist.

It depends on how the Lions evaluate. They do use a tier system. It remains to be seen who will fit into their top tier and how long that list winds up being. This draft looks very good at DL, OT, and decent at LB and CB. Real bad year to need RB, QB, and interior OL.

I've heard from inside the building that Delmas will get tagged if they can't reach a deal, and Houston and Levy will be top priorities in free agency. They'd really like to keep SL Hill too but he's going to get starter $$ elsewhere. That leaves DE as a glaring need. Avril is not coming back, one of Jackson/Young won't be back (they're not paying them both) and KVB is entering his last year if he even makes it that far and isn't cut, though his cap circumstance makes that tough.

The Lions HAVE to draft for need this year. They pull the same crap they have been pulling, Jim should just walk now and save everyone the time.

i think you have to franchise Delmas, our defense is clearly better with him on the field and he seems to our defensive general. Something that can't be taught. Additionally i assume we are going to draft another safety, be nice for Delmas to help bring him along. Houston we have to resign, and Levy i hope we bring back as our ILB.

i hope KVB gets cut, yes he's a blue collar player but he's a old and slow blue collar player. Jackson/Young/Hill i would love to return, but jackson and young so far are all hype and training camp studs and Hill is going to get paid starter money, but i don't think will live up to his contract where ever he goes.

Return to Detroit Lions
