Sounds like Trevor Ariza. Do we know when he's supposed to be back?

Came up with a trade idea

Washington trade's-
Trevor Ariza
Kevin Seraphin
Jan Vesely
Trevor Booker
Top 5 protected 2013 pick

Washington receives-
Derrick Williams
Luke Rindnour
Demarcus Cousins

Timberwolves trade:
Luke Rindinour
Derrick Williams

Timberwolves receive:
Ariza
Booker

Kings trade-
Cousins

Kings receive:
Vesely
Seraphin
Top 5 protected

Why for Washington- They get some talented youngsters in D-will and Cousins(This team is not talented) and they also get a veteran PG that Ernie has been craving for.

Why for Minnesota- They get the defender they have been looking for in Ariza and also get an energy player in Booker.

Why for Kings- They get to rid of a locker room cancer in Cousins and get back a talented big in Seraphin and also get Vesely + a top-5 protected pick.

Theyre not giving up DWill for that **** package. Ive been saying I wanna do Crawford, Ariza, Vesley, Lotto protected 1st for DWill and Ridnour(or Barea if they prefer).... that I think we would have a shot of pulling off. But just Ariza and Booker isn't gonna get it done.

Makes a lot of sense for all teams......Minnesota has been openly pining for a defensive oriented 6'6" - 6'7" SF.

Most logical trade I've seen by far.

If the price includes a first, it's too rich for my blood. Williams hasn't been great in Minny, and has already gone through periods were Adelman hasn't played him very much. Yes, he's got more potential than lots of the guys we currently have, but there's been nothing so far to indicate he's on his way to being a star.

Folks have been saying the same damn thing about the draft being weak every single year for the last half decade. I think we're conditioned to say the draft is weak if there's not a LeBron, Wade, Melo type draft. But every year, there's a handful of players that are drafted that any team would love to have.

I wouldn't entertain trading a pick unless a legit star is coming to us. Cousins and especially Derrick Williams aren't worth swapping a likely top 5 pick for. Even if its a protected pick, I wouldn't do it. Williams has been complete bust so far and Cousins has lived up to his rep as being a nut case.

ok so what do you guys think of this.
http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=d6zy6rs

WIZ GETS:
Williams, Cousins, Thomas.

MINI GETS:
Salmons and Evans.

Kings GET:
Roy, Ridnour, Vesely, Seraphin, booker, and one or both of Minis first round picks in 2013.

to me, it seems that the Wiz and Mini get the players that they are looking for and the kings get a nice packages of picks and young guys along with a true PG and cap flexibility with roys contract ?

what do you guys think. ?

Not a bad trade as long as we don't have to give up a pick.

Minnesota laughs and hangs up the phone.

They still think they've got value in Williams. They're giving up him and Ridnoir, and all they get is a half-year rental of the overrated Evans plus Salmons' awful contract.

evens would need to agree to an extension and slmons will be a valuable trade chip and expiring in two years when the cap is harder. plus he has value in a vet that they are looking for. with rubio, shaved and J.J. getting evens would make luke expendable and they need to realize that williams is not as valuable as they think.
Plus its david kahn, i doubt they hang up as fast as your think they might.

Can't imagine why you would thing that considering he's been a very good per minute player for the last few years in Denver . . . just a personality that make Jamal Crawford look like Tim Duncan.

Is Okafor playing his way into some trade value? He's looked better as of late.

Take a look at his numbers, splits and game log. I think it's mostly an illusion. We've been forced to drastically downscale our expectations, and suddenly the same play looks better. Just think, that stiff is one of the better players on the team.

Would be great if GMs around the league thought he was looking better. Maybe they could feed him a couple of 20-20 games.

Disagree. He's been a lot more fluid and decisive offensively (for his standards) recently. The proof is in his shooting% in December...he shot 40% in November and 52% in December. Maybe he's getting over the inactivity from last season or maybe it's him getting playing time with Néne that's paying off...either way, I hope the trend continues. I don't see a deal this deadline involving him unless a playoff team is desperate, but if he plays gradually better, he could be an attractive piece as an expiring deal this offseason.

You're right, I missed that jump in FG%, and that is definitely something that would make him more attractive in trade, even at the trade deadline to a playoff hopeful desperate for some interior scoring. Seraphin and Vesely set decent picks for runners/cutters/etc but seem clueless about how to share space and help out other bigs. Nene probably is making a big difference in making space for Okafor. (And EG will say, "That's what we envisioned all along.") They should start Nene and Okafor together, hope that Okafor can get a string of double-doubles and maybe some 20 point games (and, come on, a 20-20) and that will at least get him back on radar.

Excellent trade. Now if we only had a GM to execute it...

^ I'm not as turned off by Salmons as some. People need to realize that the last year of his deal is only $1M guaranteed (according to Sham Sports). So his deal is essentially the same as Ariza's IMO. Problem is that also means that swapping the two doesn't help Sacto as much.
