Obviously, everyone knows he's unselfish, but he just has this ability to naturally make you be unselfish too. The Rockets keep moving the ball and their teamball is absolutely dismantling some of the best defenses this week (Grizz and now Bulls).
I think his teammates are inspired by how he insisted on deferring to Harden much of the early regular season, and when Harden was sidelined, he dropped 38pts on Spurs. Obviously Lin had the ability to be a star, but he insisted on playing teamball that he put them achieving as a team first over him achieving as a player.
Lin, the absolute Knicks' hope of "play the right way" basketball that is no longer... Knicks'.

Come on, man, really? I mean he's playing well, but still...
Harden was getting over-excited his first few games with Rockets by going isos, Rockets lost most of those games and after 2 sizzling superstar starts, Harden's shooting % started to go down.
Lin was absolutely deferring to Harden by giving him the ball and letting him go solo, it hit his game hard as we saw Lin average 10ppg on like 38% shooting in first month of season.
Then Harden was sidelined with injury and Lin dropped 38pts on Spurs. You can almost hear them saying to him, "you mean you can do THIS? So, what have you been doing all along??"
You can see as soon as Lin passes to his teammates, he moves AWAY from them. This is called giving space/ spacing, room for them to operate/ do their thing. It also gives his teammates a sense that Lin trusts them that they can do something with the ball. You give trust, you get trust back. And after a month of sacrifice, Lin is essentially reaping the rewards (benefit of doubt) that he's a team player and his teammates can trust that if they give Lin the ball, they'd get it back, and they do not have negative voice that says, "Lin wants to be a man"...
This is all a result of actions from pure unselfish intention from Lin. A player with the intention of being the man but passes the ball to mask his intention is going to show his true colors sooner or later.
