of course you all know im a big Bama fan. I hate everyone predicting we will win. I did watch some ESPN over the weekend and due to watching that coverage, ND is a pure winner at any sport they compete in since the beginning of history. At least that is what it felt like.

If i take my "confidently nervous" glasses off, ND and Bama are about even on defense, but Bama's offense is much greater than ND. We have a QB that has been on the big stage before, an extremely strong OL and running game to lean on and solid FG kicker. ND's Golson is in his first year and was already pulled multiple times this year because of bad performances. They only have 1 real passing threat, their great TE.

I can see 2 outcomes.

1 - a very nip and tuck game, 21-17 or 17-14 Bama

2 - Golson crumbles under all the bright lights and ND cant figure out how to stop the Bama running game and Bama wins 27-10

It'll be a close game. Neither offense is spectacular. Alabama has a very good defense and Notre Dame has a "good" defense. I think 'Bama controls the line of scrimmage and forces more turnovers.

21-13 Alabama

neither offense is spectacular?

Bama is the 12th scoring offense in the nation. Notre Dame is 74th.

As much as I'm tired of seeing the SEC win every BCS championship, I think Bama will win it's 3rd National Championship in 4 yrs.

Yeah, but they were also 79th in passing yards. Had great rushing throughout the season, and I think that'll be the key to their victory. I think the running game can help open things up for McCarron. But, if ND hangs tough against the 2 RB's from Bama, it could be a low-scoring game.

because they run, you did see that McCarron leads the nation in passing efficiency. Threw 26 td's, (2 td a game avg).

Yeah, they dont run a fancy, spread offense with passing yards up the yin yang, but that didnt help WV did it?

should be a great game.

Notre Dame hasn't seen a tandem running game like Alabama's all season. I know Notre Dame has one of the best defenses in the country, but Alabama's box coverage is suffocating and focused. Also their secondary is swarming. I'm a SEC fan (biased), and the SEC is tougher imo, so I value/factor in that more. The defense will be the absolute difference in this game. Alabama will frustrate Notre Dame all night. Alabama's offense will go through Notre Dame's defense. However the same can't be said for Notre Dame's offense imo. Alabama will win this, 38-20.

The Irish must score 24+ points to have any chance to win this game. The 13-16 ideas seem odd to me. I see points in this game.

this is the losing teams points in the championship game the last 14 years, 12 of 14 have failed to score 25 or more points

LSU: 0
FSU: 2
Nebraska: 14
Oklahoma: 14
OSU: 14
Oklahoma: 14
FSU: 16
Oregon :19
Oklahoma: 19
Texas: 21
OSu: 24
MIami: 24

VT: 29
USC: 38

ND is 75th in the Nation in scoring (26pts/game), Alabama gives up 10.7pts/game on defense

i wouldnt be surprised if the Irish failed to score 10pts, Bama should score

I guess I gave ND's defense too much credit.

Well, you cant spell secoND without ND
