Don't trade for a big, give more minutes to DWill, sink or swim time for him.
Make a move for a wing, and hope a healthy Rubio can help keep us in contention for the 8th seed, then BOOM Loves back in time for playoffs, with a confident Dwill ready to play back up minutes.

Have we applied for an injured player exception for Malcolm Lee?

We could only replace him with a free agent who's salary was 50% or less. Lee's deal is so cheap that this wouldn't help.

A DPE on Roy though could be for $2.55 mil -- a lot more than the vet min most teams over the cap could offer.

I don't see how we can fill both needs via trade.

Steamer and Lou for c. lee.

sign birdman to vet min

Wolves assistant Bill Bayno admits Love might be done for season, and thinks organization will add to roster to replace him if that's case

I didn't see this coming. I was thinking 6-8 weeks max.

Not real sure what to think about this. As someone who loves Love's game (pun intended), but hates his attitude, I am trying to see the hidden benefit in watching a team without Love. Also, makes a move or two much more likely I assume heading towards the deadline. I am sure we will get more info soon.

Also, in Wolfson's notes this morning he mentioned Budinger should likely get a timetable after meeting with a doctor today.

Boo to Souhan.

Bayno was just on ESPN 1500 radio 20 minutes ago, and he said that he had no idea on the severity of Love's injury, and that the training staff may be able to answer that question. He said that Love was off to see a doctor in New York, and after that diagnosis, Love, his agent, Adleman and the wolves organization would decide. He did mention that he was worried about a second break of the same bone, so that surgery was possible.

Welp with Varejao on the shelf for 8weeks and Love maybe out for the season, you guys options are shrinking by the moment. You better believe Pau Gasol is on Khan's radar.

Gasol for Kirlenko/Dwill?

I did not listen to the interview, but are you implying Souhan directly lied (or at least jumped to a conclusion) about what was said by Bayno? That doesn't surprise me, but the rest of the season for a broken hand floors me. Even with surgery, 4+ months seems crazy to me. (Full disclosure, I am not a doctor)
Regardless, we will learn more soon.

The broken bone will probably heal in a couple months. The contusion to the ego probably takes longer.

Just because you keep offering it doesn't mean it isn't a terrible offer. First you have us trading for another injured player. Second Pau doesn't have that kind of value to start, except for Laker homers. Last, you are still spelling his name wrong.

Chuck Hayes seems like a definite possibility.

Is it the system? Pau has not shown drop-off in Olympics or his NBA career until this season with new coach and system.

He has plantar fasciitis right? That can make you look really slow, it's possible he could come back from it. I just wouldn't take the risk.
