How about Love to LAL, Dwight to BK, Lopez to Atlanta, Horford/MarShon Brooks/1st to Minnesota?

Well not really. Fact is Kobe is making 30 million a year and it is crippling the franchise. Heck him and Gasol make the same salary as Lebron/Wade/Bosh combined.

Dare I say it makes more sense for the Lakers to trade Gasol, amnesty Kobe and move on with Dwight.

Yeah, cause those moves would make Howard SALVITATE. Why wouldn't Howard just go to Atlanta or Dallas instead? Or ask to be traded to Brooklyn. The guy is such an idiot, had he just straight up went FA last summer, he would of been in one of the top 5 teams in the league. Instead, he's in a worse situation than he started in.

they package artest with gasol for expirings, amnesty kobe, sign paul and re-sign howard... trade nash for gordon hayward + millsap s&t in the offseason... build around a core of dwight/millsap/hayward/paul

LOL at considering the Lakers a "worse" situation. From the mouth of David Stern himself: The best finals for the NBA ratings would be Lakers vs. Lakers. There is a reason there is all this talk about the Lakers even when they are losing.

Howard would prove that he is an idiot if he signs anywhere else but the Lakers after this season.

Kobe + Gasol also makes more than Durant, Westbrook, Perkins, Ibaka, Thabo combined.

lol its getting worst and worst. Wont be surprised at all if rumors of dwight requesting trade start popping up after the grizzlies game especially if the lost is ugly.

No one is going to trade for him unless he comes with a long term contract. Unless there is a contender that would be happy to rent him and dump a contract for him (why would LA do that though?). He'll finish the season off in LA and get going somewhere else next year where he'll be unhappy too but no one will care cause he'll be under contract lol.

What happens if Dwight and Smith walk in the offseason, which is very likely?

Yikes.

Where do they go?

Let's take about 5 steps back and think about this... The Lakers are going to amnesty Kobe Bean Bryant.

Where do they go?

Dallas, Houston, Cleveland for starters?

I'm not saying together, just that both could and might leave. Almost likely to.

if i remember it right the current team can offer the most money to upcoming FAs. they would have to leave like 20m on the table. its a tough sell.

I have to admit, this Laker mess is quite entertaining.
