Stephen Curry 15 years from now

Is it just me, or did Steph's father - Dell Curry - not get mentioned at all in this thread as being one of the best shooters of all time.

hey if we're going specialists let's throw in Craig Hodges, Dale Ellis etc.

Steve Novak and Anthony Morow are one of the greatest in my opinion. We only give credit to all star players, but many role players used to be great shooters.

There to me have only been 2 guys that you could consider for greatest shooter ever and those would be Ray Allen and Reggie Miller. They in my opinion are head and shoulders above everybody else when you factor in shooting, coming off screens, moving without the ball, clutch factor etc.... but man Stephen curry i feel like in 15 years he could be in the conversation with those guys as one of the best ever to shoot it. I could watch him shoot it all day, in fact i think he has the nicest looking stroke ever besides jesus shuttlesworth. So what do you guys think? Barring injuries can this guy make it into that conversation? I think he could pass reggie millers makes but depending on how much longer ray ray plays that record might be hard to beat.

You all seem to forget the incredible Steve. Steve Kerr. OK ok he wasn't a starter and his weapon was mainly the 3s, but we are talking about ability to shoot so his unbelievable 3 years of having more than 50% at the 3 point area with a very very good amount of shots attempted and the overall 45.4%(!!!!), is something that shouldn't go unnoticed. He was the most consistent shooter i have seen, although not with a big repertoire. But it doesn't matter, personal ability to create own shoots etc, is irrelevant in this conversation as we are talking about the best shooter.
And Kerr with 5 rings(kinda irrelevant), with clutch championship winning shots and 45.4% at the 3pt line in the end, is a very good case.

Kerr was a 3point specialist with a shortened 3 point line who averaged a lot less attempts a game than Curry does. Another thing to consider as well would be that Curry is the focus of every defense we face and teams are forced to guard him at the top of the key leaving him with little space because they fear his shot so much. Kerr or any other shooting specialist wouldn't be doing anything like what Curry is doing if they had as much defensive attention as Curry recieves.

Do you factor in the degree of difficulty on Ray Allen's shots. For most of his career teams sole focus was to stop him. It becomes much harder to shoot great %'s when this is the case. If he wasn't a top offensive option for so many years he probably would have a career 3pt% closer to 45%. Kinda like he shoots these past few years even though he is past his prime. There are only 3 players in history to average over 15 pts/game, make 2 or more 3's/game and shoot 40% or better. Steph Curry, Peja Stojakovic, and Ray Allen.

As long as he stays healthy, can't see why not. He probably has the best shot form in the game, better than Ray Allen's and far better than Reggie Miller's.

i honestly feel that Ray isn't the "greatest" shooter. he's good in that he comes off screens, gets open looks and gets them in (that i feel he's probably the best at). But straight up one vs one matchups, i don't consider him that great. There have been so many other "shooters" that are capable of better creating their own shot.
just an example: Tmac imo is a better shooter than ray allen. but hey, thats just me

I've seen a lot of "Steph Curry is the greatest shooter ever" threads and tweets lately. Usually those are the types of discussions you have AFTER a guy has played 10+ years, not after ~200 games.

When you are as good a shooter as Curry is, you get those discussions after 200 games.
