Well competitive making the playoff is the first step. Competitive the the second round come next. Not many team just go straight to champions.

As for Foye/Miller. That didn't happen while Ted was owner. And they were brought in to complaint a team with Gilbert that were supposed to make a run of things. That never happened. Cashing in and making a run was done because Abe wanted a shot at a title before he passed away. An owner who wasn't about to die might have stayed the course and kept investing.

And while most of us didn't like the move, peoples selective memory needs a little updating.

Gil play 32 games that year.

Miller played 54

For the record, I wanted Curry. I pimped him early and often. So I am not defending the move. I was pissed about the trade. I wanted to build for the now and the future.

BUT

Miller was a good player when he was healthy. And he did what he was brought in to do.
http://espn.go.com/nba/player/stats/_/i ... ike-miller

He was one of the better 3 ball shooters in the league that year.
He shot .480 from 3 for the Wizards that year. That was 2nd in the league.
.501 from the field and grabbed 6.2 rebounds with 3.9 assists.

He also went on to two titles with Miami after and has shot over .400 from 3 each year since leaving.

Last year 2011 he was
4. Mike Miller-MIA .453 tied with Ray Allen

Foye has moved on to be a part time starter on two other good team. The LAC and Utah.

So while it didn't work out and it wasn't the move I wanted to see, it wasn't totally without logic or sense. And it wasn't made under Ted/EG so it should be associated with those two as the front office.

And getting them wasn't why the Wizard didn't get it done. It was this.

Games played

Gil 32
AJ 41
CB 47
Al 24
BH 49
DS 40
NY 74

They were decimated by injuries. Not just Gil, but CB, AJ, BH. And as we as seeing right now, that really matters.

For the sack of full disclosure though.

Like I said, I wanted Curry. But Miller and Foye were not garbage. And there were concerns about how Gil would play with Curry since Curry really needed to be a PG. Man if would have been nice to have him in the wings when Gil didnt work out. But then we would have a totally different team then we do now and I like the team we have.

Moving forward.

54% from 3. Jesus, Korver is a beast. That 8 3pt barrage last week was insane. Why can't he stick with one team?

Yeah, moving forward, without the totally sucky EG.

PS: Miller has only won one title, he began his injurious decline the year he joined the Wizards, and at his age and with his style of play, that was predictable. He was very selective with his 3s, hence a higher % and the lowest 3 point attempts per 36 of his career. It was a bad, shortsighted trade, the kind that merely creates the appearance of doing something. If EG dodges blame for that, it can only be because no GMs can be credited or blamed for anything, ever, because...they have a boss, got to pay the rent, listen to the man, looking out for #1, blah, blah, blah....

PPS: EG sucks

I was at this game. I forgot how fun the Phone Booth can be when the Wizards are competitive. Sucks we dug ourselves such a deep hole, otherwise we'd probably be a playoff team. But with Rondo being out for Boston, you never know...
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.
