The road games in February seem like winable games. I don't think it would be out of the question for the Nuggets to go 9-3 in the month and inch a bit closer to .500 on the road.
That would leave the Nuggets at 38-21 or on pace for a projected record around 52-53 wins. I always think a team should shoot for the championship when in striking distance. Many of the typically strong teams look vulnerable including Miami and the dependence on the big 3.
Should the Nuggets trade for a veteran? KG? Pau? or the blockbuster Love. I think a swap of Gallo/Faried for Love makes sense for both teams and isn't largely opposed by Minnesota fans either.
Or conversely, should the Nuggets stand pat and learn to play with each other. Both Gallo and Lawson seem to have turned it around since the beginning of the year and fuelling the Nuggets recent success. If Lawson, Gallo, Iggy can hit from 3 semi consistently then this team becomes very dangerous.
I still like the idea of attacking OKC/Miam where they are weak, up front with a dominant frontline.

It's a really big ask but my goal would be 40 before 20, so I'm hoping for 10-2 for this month

If we were to move Faried & Gallinari for Love I don't see that as a step forward. First Love isn't a run & gun guy... and also we know teams with a revolving door don't win championships. You trade two of your top 3 core pieces and you expect to step forward again and again? We moved Melo because we had to and Nene because it made sense. Others we didn't bring back. But we can't keep that sort of cycle up as a method to get better.
The Nuggets are a team without any "bad" contracts. If Chandler can stay healthy that deal is fine. The only deal where we are overpaying is for Iggy (short term contract) and McGee (unique situation). Both of those guys have trade value. And if you want to discuss moving them in the right deal I could possibly get behind that.
The NBA is becoming more like the NFL... superteams are going away... and small market teams will have a better chance to win. It is going to come down to making smart front office decisions... not just assembling superstars.
I'm sure Minesota would take back Faried and Gallinari. I would too.

How is this a revolving door. It's taking two guys in the top 50 in the NBA and trading them in for a guy in the top 15. The Nuggets have Iggy and Chandler that can take Gallo's minutes and Love obviously takes Faried's minutes. Plus everyone on the Nuggets would basically be signed for several years even down to the 10th man. Yes, I think a lineup of:
Lawson, Miller
Iggy, Hamilton, Fournier
Chandler, Brewer
Love, Koufos, Randolph
Koufos, McGee, Mozgov(trade for pick?)
Basically, I believe that Chandler,Hamilton, Fournier deserve more minutes and this would grab one of the top available players in the league and surround him in an environment that he can win.

Hamilton does deserve more time sure. Chandler will get his minutes if he can stay healthy. A lot will be resolved next year with Brewers expiring contract.
Your exact logic was used in the trade that brought in Iggy. Afflalo was a core piece... Harrington not so much. And still are we that much better?
If we are constantly making deals (like the blockbusters we've done and you are proposing) the team just can't develop any chemistry. How many playoff wins has Love gotten the Wolves? I know it is apples and oranges... but any type of blockbuster isn't good for the Nuggets this year.
Anything beyond a McGee for Garnett trade is too much shuffling for me. A trade like that makes more justifable sense. Garnett would be good for Faried's career and he is off the books soon so we also ensure Faried stays a Nugget for a long time with an extension.
When I hear about the offers out there for KG... the Nuggets could get him if they wanted him. And a promise to start him at Center would get KG to waive his no trade.
