Bobby Ray wrote:i can respect your opinion, according to this blog which uses some kind of statistical analysis that i'm not smart enough to understand currently projects Smart having the highest NBA impact i believe out of the current 2013 prospects http://shutupandjam.net/draft-rankings/

Edit: here is some back story on his analysis and what it means also his methodology http://shutupandjam.net/2013/02/04/draft-rankings/

(it's not an exact science though obviously)

From this link:
"the thing that stands out the most is that players who project as +2s are pretty much can’t miss."
Trey Burke is 3rd at 2.9 on this list. Nobody is talking about him in the top-5.

From these stats, this suggests that Burke is the most under-rated player of the year and will be a huge steal for some team. He is the best player on one of the best teams, so this is not crazy. Maybe the internet scouts are missing something that the NBA scouts won't miss on.

This is an excellent point. In the 15-25 range there are a bunch of names of guys who look to be NBA productive. The #15 slot range the Celts will be at is particularly obtainable.

Marcus Smart having a big game already with almost 11 mins left to go in the game, 21 pts, 6 rebs....no assists surprisingly.

I'm on the Smart bandwagon if we can't get Noel.

Nate Wolters scored a school-record 53 points and broke another mark with nine 3-pointers as South Dakota State defeated IPFW 80-74 Thursday night.

Wolters was 9 for 14 from beyond the arc, 17 for 28 overall and 10 for 11 at the free-throw line. He scored 38 of his points in the second half, helping South Dakota State (19-6, 10-2 Summit) shoot 64 percent from the floor and overcome an 11-point deficit.

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame released the names of the 12 finalists for the 2013 Bob Cousy Collegiate Point Guard of the Year Award on Thursday, a list that includes South Dakota State senior Nate Wolters.

For the month, the Jan. 21 Player of the Week, averaged 21.6 points, 5.5 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game. He shot 48 percent (56-of-118) from the field and 85 percent (45-of-53) at the line as the Jacks went 7-1 and ascended to a first place tie in the standings during the month. Wolters was also named one of the final 20 candidates for the Bob Cousy Award and to the midseason top-15 for the John Wooden Awards on Jan. 10.

^^Pretty good big board but I see Burke going and probably Goodwin going top 10. Not sure why Burke gets so underrated on every mock draft. He has all the tools to be a successful offensive point guard in the NBA. I would take him over MCW, my top 3 point guards are Smart, Burke, then MCW (its tough to leave McCollum out).

Also if Steven Adams declared this year I could't see him going in the 21-30 range. He has everything you want in a starting center, he is just as raw as they come right now. If Lorenzo Brown was in the back end of the 20's I'd take a shot on him too, 6"5 pg that really played great on NCST last year w/ CJ Leslie. Just scanning in the 2nd round, Ledo in 51-60 range and Hardaway JR in the 71-80 range are guys I like as well.

Burke will be drafted by Detroit in the 8-12 range. Count on it.

Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

i'd love Oladipo on the magic as a mid first.

Oladipo and Harkless could be great defensively and in transition, get a legit PG with those dudes and bang profit
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.
