He would have been a good trade chip in the Melo trade.

I mean the fact that you guys still think we made the right choice is baffling. Donnie Walsh was an average GM who did one good thing and that was get us under the cap. All of his other choices were questionable at best.

the hill pick was worst of walshs decision

I remember him throwing the scouts under the bus when he got questioned on not picking jennings afterwards

He would have been a good pick.

no he wouldn't have, he's a inefficient chucker who cares about himself and himself only

remember on draft night when he came out 3 picks later as if the ny crowd were anticipating his arrival?

he wouldve been a good pick b/c his value in that season was higher than hills....higher value means ny wouldve had to give less in one of their trades they made following that draft (tmac, melo, etc)

hill turned out to be a throw in, whereas jennings couldve been a integral piece of trade and ny wouldve had to give up less 2ndary pieces

Walsh is a decent gm who for some reason is seen as some all time great gm around these parts. I guess people just remember how bad it was before he came in and just compare him to Isiah and Layden. Walsh is the most overrated GM that gets props for actually being good.

In his last 10 games, Brandon Jennings has made only 35.6 percent of his shots within nine feet of the basket.

Should also consider the MD hiring (which was terrible) and picking Gallo over Eric Gordon. Walsh had his blunders, but he did a good job at cleaning up the Isiah mess.

Context means a lot in discussions. People would now look at some of the players Isiah put together and see that Lee and Nate won players of the week last week. They would see Jcraw won 6th man of the year. They would see Zach and Lee are both all stars again.

In regards to Walsh he hired a experienced successful coach. I do not like that coach much now but at that time a lot of people had a lot of respect for Dantoni.

Gordan was looked at as a undersized 2 guard when Gallo was drafted. Now Gallo is on the rise playing all star level ball the last 2 months or so while Gordan's team is looking to trade him again.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D

Yes context does mean a lot.

Gordon has been the better player between him and Gallo but for the last 2 months. Which means he had a lot more value than Gallo for 3 years +. He was the center piece of the trade for CP3. Which means had we had him and Jennings the Melo trade would not have included that many players.

We would have kept some picks. You are a Gallo homer. So whatever. But yeah agreed context is key which you have none in your post.

Yep. He also tried to give JJ the max. Imagine that JJ/Amare. FML.

its really depressing watch lebron play knowing we were this close to getting him. he set the franchise back 15 years with his decision.

ok, even if it wasn't close, he still set the franchise back 15 years. even if you subscribe to the theory that we are a championship contender, all rings must go through him
