I'd like for them to figure a way to finagle the name Washington Generals from that terrible squad that has embarrassed the city/area in the past. This city is much too great to be associated with that nonsense even tangentially. Adopt the name, win a chip or two and eradicate the stench of the original Generals abomination from the region. Plus, it's actually an awesome team name.

Or go with the opposite of Generals - Specifics - or Specs. You can't see without us.

Washington Assassins.

BTW - Wizards can kill people too. So they can change it back to Bullets.

Every day I become more and more convinced Ted is a gigantic tool.

The name doesn't matter to me as much as the color scheme and uniforms, which thankfully Leonsis has taken care of. The team doesn't look like an embarrassment anymore (well sometimes, but I'm referring to the color scheme and uniforms of the original Wizards). That and taking down the Mystics attendance championship banners are about the only good things Ted has done for the franchise since taking over.

i had had two martinis at this point so i asked her if he every shouted DAGGER in the bedroom with her.

she looked at me kinda strangely and said she had no idea what DAGGER meant.

Personally, I love the Bullets name, and would LOVE to see it back, and I know many fans feel the same way. But at the same time, it's just not happening. Ted was right in that lots of fans would argue that Pollin made the change for all the right reasons, and even if it's not a 50/50 split, there would be a VERY loud minority against the change. Think about everything that's going on with gun control issues recently. We'd never hear the end of it. It could be a PR nightmare, and it would honestly be hard to justify. The positives wouldn't outweigh the very likely negatives.

But with that said, CHANGE IT BACK!! haha

If only more people had Pollin's vision. Wizard train, magic wizard, faster than a speeding wizard, silver wizard, dodged that wizard, the ballot is stronger than the wizard, wizardin. The world would be much better. And why not change Cuban Missle Crisis to Cuban Nerf Misunderstanding.

the w is rottweillers really fits well with washington. I also think it captures the identity of the team and john wall.

much better than wizards or bullets.

Well if you're going that way, you should rename them the Washington Gridlocks, both to describe our traffic and government output. This would even emphasize the defensive nature of the team while accurately reflecting our offensive prowess - nothing is getting by us, but we may not score much!

still love rottweilers. It just flows with energy. Kind of like the Hoyas.
Build your team w/5 shooters using P. Pierce Form deeply bent hips and lower back arch at same time b4 rising into shot. Elbow never pointing to the ground! Good teams have an engine player that shoot volume (2000 full season) at 50 percent.Large Hands

The Washington Presidents

We can get Victoria's Secret to sponsor the dance team = Victoria's Secret Service

There is nothing hotter than chicks with guns. Not that the overly PC soccer mum mentalities in charge would let them even have prop guns :(

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I think since Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton left the team, this whole name change argument has become a mute point. After all, what good would it be to have the Bullets without the guns?

That's fine - you don't have to like "Bullets" to dislike "Wizards."

Name ain't changing. There's no real need or demand to change the name from Wizards back to Bullets...or to any other name for that matter. I think Ted is right when he says that probably around half (at least 40%) of the fans don't have a problem with Wizards.

However, I do enjoy reading some of the creative and entertaining proposed new names I've seen in this thread.

But we should get Washington's NFL team to change it's freaking racist nickname...that's something worth talking about and fighting for.

Or maybe they should just change the logo.

Ted claims 50% of fans like the name Wizards.

Seems legit.

That's something we agree on.
