http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/21710534/whats-right-for-dwight-will-lakers-deal-howard

Howard said Friday that Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak has told him he does not want to trade the free agent-to-be. It's the same message Kupchak delivered in a recent interview with Newsday and the same message he's given Howard's agent, Dan Fegan, in recent weeks.

However, CBSSports.com has learned that the Lakers have engaged in preliminary trade discussions with an unlikely trade partner regarding Howard: their fierce rival, the Boston Celtics. The centerpieces of the possible deal, which hasn't gained any traction, would be Howard and Rajon Rondo.

It would not surprise me if Dwight has asked for a trade. He's got an interest in taking his bird rights where he wants to sign this summer. Also wouldn't surprise me if Lakers FO think he won't resign after this year. Odd though they'd trade for Rondo, basically give up on the season.

Not "explosive" enough they say....

Some team is gonna get one heck of a player/leader though.

I hope it's all blown up. Lakers going nowhere. I Have less hostility towards the celtics, but I don't
See how this would help them much. I am enjoying being a longtime
Casual magic fan for 20 years and now gettig serious, seeing the downfall of the lakers, celtics. I hope well enough for Philly for having helped us in the d12 trade, and having given us the assets we have now. Power to the small
Teams and those who aren't season favorites year in and year out.

“@danielbuerge_LA: Kobe & Dwight flew to Houston together last night. Someone just told me they didn't even look at each other for the entire flight. Solid.”

I have no idea who this guy is but I saw a couple of people have reposted this on Twitter.

“@daldridgetnt: Source who would definitely know re: reported Rondo/Howard talks: "nothing. Zero. Nada. Niente. Clear?" So, there's that.”

I believe David Aldridge over mostly anyone else out there

It would be nice to get involved in that deal.

Orlando out: JJ Redick, Josh McRoberts
Orlando in: Eric Bledsoe, Lamar Odom (expiring)

LA out: Eric Bledsoe, DeAndre Jordan, Lamar Odom
LA in: Kevin Garnett, Josh McRoberts

Boston out: Kevin Garnett
Boston in: DeAndre Jordan, JJ Redick

That's all depending on how much Boston wants JJ. He'd look so good next to Rondo next year.

I'm a little buzzed for thinking rationally, but I like where you're going with that trade.

Don't think Clippers trade Jordan. But, they should try to acquire KG. I'd place them as the favorites out West if they did so.

This is the reason Nelson fell in his draft. It seems to be what is hurting Burke. If Burke has anything like a Nelson-type career, for him to fall below a #15 selection means that NBA scouts really do not project "winning" as part of their draft formula.

PGs are so common in today's game that I think gms don't want to use picks on them unless they feel theyre getting a future all star. Burke falls into a similar category as jameer and Kemba walker in that they were very good college players and are good nba players but just not great so the 15-20 range sounds right for him. Like I said earlier I think his height scares off people with the trend of today's nba PGs being like 6'2

It would be nice to get involved in that deal.

Orlando out: JJ Redick, Josh McRoberts

LA out: Eric Bledsoe, DeAndre Jordan, Lamar Odom

Boston out: Kevin Garnett, c lee

I agree but money isn't quite right on trade checker. If we ship out ish to la to keep us at 15 players max and take back c. Lee then it works out well on trade checker. We still get back a decent sg. Probably more incentives need to be added, but at least we get our possible pg of the future. I'd still draft smart though. Smart reminds me a lot of d wade. He could possibly be our d wade here. Start at sg but handles the ball a lot. A starting line up in a year or two of Bledsoe, smart, harkless, an, vuc. Isn't bad once they get experience.
