Shame for ATL, with Gortat, it would've allowed Horford at the PF spot, i could see them playing side by side effectively.

will this be the last "overhyped" or "Drama induced" or "anti work productivity disease" we'll have for awhile?

no way, as long as Dwight is a (insert non-Nets team here) there will be drama

Blatche is about as good as gortat and a cheap semi-asset at center.

Exactly, thats where I thought Smith would ultimately be dealt, to the Suns who would pay him big money.

Personal opinion but Blatche isn't on the same planet as Gortat as a center.

How'sit?

Not $6M a year better.

Dwight's going to Atlanta where he's still loved. They don't want hump or seemingly gortat either

Chris Sheridan is all over the radio talking about how there is a very good chance Dwight is moved here by Thursday.

He really is losing it.

did you read/hear about a possible deal that pairs Lopez & D12 in Brooklyn? lol

i'm not even crazed enuff to believe that...(although it was very concievable and possible last year prior to all changes had D12 opted out of the Magic.

I stopped taking Sheridan seriously at the end of 2011.

Right after he left ESPN and started his own site, he tried to push some rumors that were just flat out crap and since then I haven't heard any breaking news from him that was actually legit.

I wonder how he makes his money now, couldn't be off website hits or advertising could it?

LOL, I was wondering that exact same thing.

It's not like he's Woj or anything so he must be generating money off of page hits or something.

I see that he's got an app for $1.99, but idk who would pay for that. Maybe he's rigged some URLs to cause infinite re-directs to his site so that he gets cash

Hoping for Josh Smith but I don't see how it gets done unless ATL gets desperate. Ben Gordon seems realistic and I really hope we can get that done. Hump for Gordon would get rid of our little log jam at 4 and gives us another real shooter which we desperately need. Deron-BG-JJ-Crash-Lopez looks pretty damn good offensively.

Tbh, he got Avery's firing right (even if we all knew it was bound to happen). He called it the night before.

I dont understand why its unlikely. Or rather, why did the Suns reach out in the first place if they arent willing to pay the guy?

A lot of assumptions going on right now that creates so many of our arguments in this thread.

Like, we assume Smith is driving his agent towards us. But no one has said that. All we know is King has reached out and that so far has been turned down. Media speculating that the Hawks wont get a better off than ours and if true then Ferry does nothing. But...if the Suns reached out if the Bucks reached out...and if these conversations are going on we know the Hawks will take those deals over our offer because they are much better deals for them. So its only unlikely if Smith is saying Nets and only Nets because that would make those teams offering quality pieces pull out. Everyone wants the verbal commit from the player's agent. But unless we know that...than no one is out. And of course if someone is ever willing to pull the rental routine then they can by pass the leverage Smith has as a final year player.

Wish we had more info rather than our own assumptions. I am not even reading rumors that say Smith is pushing hard to come here. You would think by now if he had flexed his muscle we would have heard about it.

Other than adding a bigger contract to sell next year I dont get why anyone is Jonesing for Ben Gordon.

If we land Ben Gordon I will about that about the same way I feel about buying a new package of socks.

1. What froncourt would you rather see starting in 2013-14?
A. Teletovic / Howard
B. Smith (or Milsap) / Lopez

2. Who would you rather give up in a deal for a PF this season?
A. Teletovic
B. Bogdanovic

How about a Smith Howard? :eyebrows:

And if we can pull that off...give them both up.

You know what deal I keep expecting to pop up out of these musical chairs? AlJeff for Monta Ellis.

You have the Jazz screwing around with the Spurs on AlJeff and I dont think they really want to do that deal. You have the Bucks trying to get Smith from the Hawks dragging their feet. So doesnt it make sense to change dance partners? Jazz weakness has been their back court. Their willingness to let their two bigs go is to commit to Favors and Kanter. So? Improve your lousy back court. The I try to turn Millsap into a credible PG if possible.
