If we could get Pierce for the same package we were offering for Smith...or better, we trade JJ for Pierce...I'd MUCH rather do that than trade for Gordon, tbh.

Nah, trb3, hold strong, trade for Gordon, gather your assets (two, maybe three more Euro stashes this draft) and bide your time. It's only a matter of time before Love asks out.

Sam Amico ‏@SamAmicoFSO
Source: Nets have secured Kris Humphries-for-Ben Gordon trade with Bobcats, but waiting to see what happens with Hawks' Josh Smith first.

Jermaine O'Neal anyone? Suns could be buying him out.

As per the Writers Knicks would be the team to get him if he gets bought out.

@HowardBeckNYT Received an emphatic denial that Nets have agreed to any Humphries/Gordon deal. They don't want Gordon, period.

Well, OK then.

Pierce is going off on the Lakers. 23 points in the first half. I have no idea why we wouldn't want him regardless of age if he truly is on the table.

I know Peter Vecsey was bs'ing but I would trade JJ in a heartbeat for Pierce. Not only is Pierce the better player, but we also get out of JJ's awful contract.

I believe Beck over Amico. Beck is associated with us so he probably has a better source or King is the source himself. Who knows.

I told my boss I won't be going into work tomorrow though, so I'll be hitting F5 unti 3:30.

Won't Pierce be an even bigger expiring than Gordon for next year? And in terms of name value to sell to the fans, Pierce is much better in that regard than Gordon.

I know it'll help us out big time for next year, but if I have to deal with watching Humphries/Evans as our PFs until NEXT trade deadline, while Tele continues to rot on the bench, I might go crazy.

If the Celtics move KG, they will def move Pierce.

A deal with us would be fine. And Pierce can flat out ball.

I just don't know if he would work on this team, when we have Joe Johnson. We really just need a PF.

Beck with insult to injury

Howard Beck ‏@HowardBeckNYT
To those asking why Nets don't want Gordon: He's all offense, no defense. If they wanted that kind of guard, they'd play MarShon Brooks more

Well, yeah, but you said send the same package for him that the Nets would be sending for Josh Smith, ie: Brooks, Humphries, and a first. That's where I just say hold strong. Or, if that JJ for PP deal is there, then do that.

If we ignore egos, we'd bring either JJ or Wallace off the bench, so that we have a legit 6th man in addition to a much better starting 5, or we could go small:

Deron
JJ
Pierce
Evans
Lopez
6th man: Wallace

or

Deron
Pierce
Wallace
Evans
Lopez
6th man: JJ

or

Deron
JJ
Pierce
Wallace
Lopez
