Miami only put up a 97.7 ORTG tonight, but they held Chicago to 76.1.

Yeah, that was a game on complete cruise control. WTF was up with that open dunk attempt. I've never seen him fumble the ball in a situation like that before.

Lebron's up to 64.0 TS% on the season, 56.7 FG%. He's pretty much negated Durant's advantage in scoring efficiency, he's only 1.5 TS% behind.

Lebron's also really getting his midrange J going. 5-5 tonight, and he's now shooting 44.1% from 16-23 feet on the season, 63.6% in February.

I expect Durant's TS% lead to be non-existent by the end of the season. They're both going to be around 65%, and will also be within a single point per game of each other as well.

Well durant's shot pretty poorly by his standards the last couple games. Although it's still bugging me how he's still getting these 9/9 , 10/10+ ft games which i'm sure are helping to keep his TS% inflated.

I've never seen that well the last time i saw that was against my raps when bosh ex heckled him for it. I actually was laughing at him watching that game at a bar with friends. Them he slaughtered us for 24 points in the fourth. "It's yo fault, it's yo fault" looking at bosh ex.

This isn't a streak. This is Lebron, plain and simple. He makes 70% shooting nights seem like a bore, let alone the genius passes he had. Also, I was very impressed with him defensively tonight, something we don't talk about enough around here.

Miami put up an 88.6 DRTG with Lebron on the floor tonight. 44.4 DRTG in 13.5 minutes with him on the bench (whatever lineups Chicago was using against Miami's bench were just downright horrible).

LeBron's now tied with KD in win shares at 13.1, though he passed him in WS/48 a couple of weeks ago.

Just won't let up.... The PER record will fall this year, it's going to happen.

30/8/7 on 68% shooting last 9 games. Running out of superlatives.

Wish we had delayed the peaks project to this summer.

He'll probably have the record after the upcoming back-to-back games. And yeah, if he keeps this play up, he'll end up with the #1 peak of all time IMO.

He's threatening both the single-season PER and WS/48 records. At this pace he'll definitely set new highest ever marks for both. Just a couple weeks ago he was at like 30.3 PER and .284 WS/48. Now he's at 31.6 PER and .314 WS/48.

That's two straight games under 30. I'd expect him to get back to slightly higher volume on Saturday in Philli

What's startling to me is the Heat's play in the last 18 games that directly coincides with LeBron's genius. (I'm going to use the word genius here, since I truly feel like he's on a different plane when he plays now, ala Bird and Magic at their peak.) 70% TS. I'm literally laughing out loud.

Miami first 34G: 4.2 SRS, +6.0 ORtg, +1.1 DRtg
Miami last 18G: 11.6 SRS, +10.3 ORtg, -1.8 DRtg

I'm more impressed with the Heat improved defense lately. In their first 20 games they were about 103.5 D rating but in their last 20 games they are 99.3 D rating.

I'll take it a step further. Looking at Miami with Lebron ON the court only

Miami first 34G: +7.2 Net, +7.1 ORtg, -0.1 DRtg
Miami last 18G: +18.6 Net, +15.0 ORtg, -3.6 DRtg

If you had to put a number on his offensive impact right now, where do you see him? I thought he was a solid +5.0 last season, and would make the jump up to around +6 this year, but as you said, he seems much closer to Bird/Magic (or Jordan/Nash) territory right now than the 2nd tier of offensive GOATs. I'm not sure I've ever seen a player 10 years into his career improve upon literally every aspect of his game from season to season.

AHh, the old 121 team ORtg from Miami while LeBron's in the game. I don't technically know the best 18-game stretch ever, but I'd bet that it's Steve Nash's stretch in 2007, when Phoenix posted a 126.8 with him on court. (35th to 56th game.) And while we aren't in that territory yet, breaking 120 in a 105.5 environment is pretty monumental.

Ask me again about LeBron in 2 months. He's definitely moving toward my GOAT tier of offensive players...

I think people should focus more on context when applying such ridiculous expectation on Lebron. Let's not forget that against handchecking, Lebron has proven to be nothing more than a poor man's Anthony Mason. Is it impressive that Lebron is laying the smack down on mediocore teams missing their star players? Sure, Antoine Walker used to go HAM against crap teams too. It's no suprise that in the biggest game of the season thus far Lebron choked and got locked down by an ancient Kobe. When the defense is, you know, actually playing defense and the game actually matters, Lebron is a good not great player. The facts have proven that.

Here is the list of the top on court O ratings with 1500 MP:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... der_by=pts

That list is littered with Phoenix guys. Here is that list with only guys who played 2500 MP (~30 MPG) and did not play for Phoenix:

1. Kobe 09-116.1
2. Roy 09- 116.1
3. LeBron 10- 115.8
4. Aldridge 09- 115.7
5. LeBron 09- 115.6
6. Peja 08- 115.6
7. Dirk 07- 115.6
8. LeBron 13- 115.3

Overall it would be 32nd place. LeBron's 09 and 10 seasons were better in the on court O rating terms.

Lebron was at 115.9 for 2013 before last night's game, and you have to consider that the current league average is 105.5. He's pacing for a 117ish finish for this season
