JR Smith Should Start

Post#1 » by Brickz7 » Fri Feb 22, 2013 8:35 pm

I know some people will look at this and say he's crazy but i feel he will be less of a detriment to the team if he starts at the 2. He will be relegated to a spot up shooter and it will take less pressure off of him to create and score for the second unit. When melo goes out he just goes crazy with isos. I feel that he should always be one court when melo is on it and off when melo is off the court

Heat fan here, in peace.

I agree J.R Smith would be a nice addition to the starting line up. Smith and Melo + Chandler can have some amazing moments. Hopefully Mike Woodson sees it this way.

Absolutely. I'd rather see him cut.

JR or Amare should be starting. And JR should not play with Amare cause if you're gonna deal with Amare's bad defense you have to feed him and that will never happen with JR's minimum quota of 3 contested 20 ft. j's every quarter.

Seriously though. I wonder whether you guys are watching games. JR has been absolutely horrible for the last three months. He basically had one decent month in November and everything is downhill from there.

Watching him make my eyes bleed.

It's hard to win games no matter who you have on your team when your second leading scoring is shooting under 40%. If it wasn't for his 2 game winning jumpers, he wouldnt of had a good December also.

absolutely. i just said this an hour ago in another thread.

JR being a 2nd/3rd option on offense would allow him to wait and set his shots, rather then be ball dominate and have to create his own offense. it would be night and day. its called playing a player to his strengths but we have a coach who likes to do the opposite for his players.

6 time allstar out 3 months bring him back and put him on the bench.

rookie out for year with worse possible injury, insert in starting line-up at a position he doesnt play.

well known career chucker, bring him off the bench with a green light to chuck.

brilliant....

jr smith should start...

...by reading books at his IQ level. Dr. Suess is not as good as you'd think for literacy development, but it's better than nothing.

Yeah - Woody's rotations have been totally insane.

I actually don't completely mind the idea of starting JR WITH STAT and having him play more of a facilitators role with the two stars. I want to see Kidd rested. His drop off has been the biggest factor between how we started the season and now, imo.

I actually wouldn't mind him starting and keeping him accountable for the minutes he plays. Having him out there with the starters might make him more conscious about playing within the system and reduce the chucking.

Right now, he's constantly coming in with the Knicks behind and he thinks his role is to indiscriminately chuck the team back into the game. Have him start and he might be more likely to move the ball, concentrate on defense, and shoot when Felton gives him the ball. If he doesn't behave, pull him for Shump quickly, so he gets the message.

STFU and GTFO out Heat, Lakers, Raptors follower...JR just needs to start playing team ball instead of chuck mode.

JR Smith starting, much like him taking good shots and playing defence, is simply a Pipe dream. Get over it.

Haha this board is so amazing. I was saying the same things that you guys are saying about JR when we were doing pretty good. Some people called me crazy, some of them accused me of not being a Knick fan. I am glad that we are on the same page right now.

JR Smith, Felton have 0 basketball IQ. As soon as we get rid of them and bring some players at least Tyson's basketball IQ level, we'll win something.
