Remaining Games - MIL and TOR

Post#1 » by TRaps1040 » Sat Feb 23, 2013 2:17 pm

Looking at the schedule below has got to make you feel good as a Toronto fan. We're going to need to play at a high level, but assuming we do (based on recent trends) we have a good chance at sneaking in...

One of the glaring issues for old Milwaukee is the number of games vs. the west! (13 vs. our 4)

I think if we're serious about this, we need to show up and win both games against MIL. I was at the last game which, given the circumstances, was an absolute heartbreaker.

If we take care of business against MIL both times we could go 17-9. Split gets us to 16-10. That's either 39-43, or 40-42.

Its a great time to be a raptor fan everyone. Lets get behind ALL of our guys every chance we can get to see if we cant help push them into 8th.

That Home-and-home against CHI in April might kill us, but I like that our last game is at home against Boston - I'd wager that they'll be resting their starters for that one.

If we only split vs the Bucks, we don't deserve to make the playoffs.

It's not like they're getting a purple heart or swearing to a life of poverty here. Just make the playoffs, it's totally within reach. Don't pull the T.O. special midseason just kidding we're nothing but fodder trick.

Also against the Knicks. Come on... the Knicks. Take em to seven. How would that not be amazing?

Let's hope we start gelling and Rudy starts shooting for a better percentage because the last month of the season is going to be a little tough if we're still shooting inefficiently.

The bucks schedule looks really, really hard to me. Lots of trips out west, and almost all the lower tier teams on the road. For a team that is sliding downwards, this is a bad schedule because there is no opportunity to get a run going and get your confidence up. Washington, sure, but it's followed by Miami. Orlando is followed by Portland and on the road vs. Hawks and Pacers. Unless they really pull it together they could slide big time with that schedule, and it gives them every reason not to pull it together. I'm feeling confident.

Personally, I wouldn't be making a comparison to Milwaukee just yet. We're still one game behind of Philadelphia. Once we comfortably pass Philly in the standings, then I feel we should be eyeing Milwaukee.

Well, we have the easier schedule.. but we have a lot of ground to make up. Those 5 of 6 road games at the beginning of March could end us.

I'd like to have that 8 spot by the end of March, might be tough but April will be tough and we need to be playing great to come out plus 500 in those games.

Yep, that's the critical stretch. If the get past that in decent shape, let's say 3 games back, they need to at least pull even by the final showdown with the Bucks. I don't like their chances of making up ground in the final 5 games where I believe the Bucks have the scheduling edge assuming that Denver and OKC are packing it in by then. I think it's much more likely that Nets,Hawks and Celtics are fighting for positioning.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

There's a good chance that OKC and Denver is still fighting for a seed towards the end of the season, its tight at the top of the west. Here's hoping

If you look at the first game against the bucks, Raptors only had 4 players actually show up. No help from Fields, no help from the bench . They were up 20 in the first quarter and blew that lead. I think Raptors are a better team and especially now with the acquisition of rudy gay. we will see. if sanders ever gets hurt again that could be huge, sanders is largely part of the reason they're in that 8th seed at all. they lost to the pistons and wizards with him out.

I don't want the playoffs this year. Let's get rid of owing this lottery pick, deal with Bargnani and take a stab next year.

March 2- March 13 we play four of five on the road. This is Bargnani's time to get rhythm going while he is not under the spotlight of fans. I really hope he turns it on because he has a couple things in his favour: no Bogut on GS possibly, played well recently against LA and Pho. Our bench will be key during this stretch that should make or break the season.

Yep, not sure why this point is being ignored. Why the **** are you all talking playoffs when we're not even 9th at the moment? Puzzling. Don't get your hopes up, people.

I see what you guys are saying, but Philly doesn't hold what we want. Milwaukee, however, does.

If we are able to overcome Milwaukee then chances are we've also overcome Philly unless they go for something better than 17-9 to finish season.
