I would rather have Thompson and he would be a very valuable trade piece if the Bucks wanted to go after a guy like Eric Gordon.

Almost-A-Yooper is a great name albeit a terrible place to live.

I don't understand how anyone could want Eric Gordon and his contract over Klay Thompson.

obviously Klay Thompson. Same range, younger, way more length and more affordable contract

MagicGirl wrote:Magic fan here. You guys are going to love JJ. The guy is a tireless worker, runs off screens, distributes the ball, takes charges, gets up and down the court, is a savvy passer, and oh yeah - great 3 point and clutch free-throw shooter. He has improved his game in every aspect each year he's been in the league. His basketball IQ and leadership skills are off the charts.

Many fans in Orlando (myself included) are opting not to renew our season tickets for next year because we are so upset he was traded. Don't know what'll happen once the season ends, but enjoy the guy while you can.

By the way, he's been doing a Rick Flair 'Wooooo' whenever he hits a 3....it'd be nice if y'all continue that tradition up in Milwaukee.

Good luck the rest of the way.

Thanks for the info. I have been able to verify with Redick himself that this is accurate, so Sector 7 will be doing the "Woo" along with him. I'm guessing the crowd will enjoy this too :)

I'd prefer Redick, without question, but the reality is that Klay's contract and youth are much more appealing to the Bucks.

The Bucks had 2 chances for a long term shooting guard in the last 2 drafts. They could have drafted Klay or Burks or they could have not traded down with Houston the next year and drafted Jeremy Lamb.

I blame ownership/front office for the Bogut era not being what it should have been. Watching Bogut in college is depressing. He was so confident in everything he did. The Bucks blew their opportunity in the moves that followed that summer. They should have sat on cap space and let Bogut be the #1 option from the start, while pulling an OKC and acquiring picks and young assets. Instead they give Redd the max, bring back Gadz, overpay Simmons, and trade for Magloire. They then move Bogut to the 4, and relegate him to a garbage man role on offense while letting the guards shoot them out of games. Destroyed the confident all around beast that Bogut was. To me the turning point of the franchise was giving Redd the max and going for it rather than the rebuild that was gifted to them.[/quote]

hindsight is 20/20. Yeah, they really should've stripped it down right then. Make it Bogut's team. Even if he ended up never fully panning out, at least he would have had a real chance to be the man. And we would've got multiple top draft picks to build with him. But at the same time, a truly great player will find a way to rise to the top- especially when your competition is redd and mo... Still, thinking about what could've been makes me want to barf.

Thompson has more trade value and rightfully so. Redick is a better player presently and IMO Thompson will never get to Redicks level as a player.

A lot of us (including me) have gone mad from our less than cerebral guards/wings through the Hammonds era. Klay does give off that idiot vibe.

Indeed he does. I'm not even a Thompson homeboy... he's the guy I would consider trading. But not for JJ Redick.

Well no that would very short term thinking which is the other thing driving Bucks fans nuts.

you guys will see, JJ is a much better player than Monta Ellis, he should be starting over him
aol4532 on bill russell
I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

90% of the forum will not argue with that. I wish it were that easy.

Actually I would start JJ over Jennings. But either move would be helpful.

I didn't like the JJ Redick trade. Not because I don't like JJ, but because the trade gave us another SG without removing one. I just do not see how it makes us better this year. Losing two young prospects in the move only made it worse. Had a trade involved moving Ellis for a pick or two, then maybe, but I just don't understand the deal.

If $ isn't a factor, I like JJ over Klay...and it's not all that close.

However $ is a factor so its a toss up.

Now I hope we can keep Reddick for a fair deal...whatever that may be.

Return to Milwaukee Bucks
