Sad thing is most on this board had a good idea this was going to happen once he was "freed."

Pretty sure there's going to be a bit of hindsight backslapping go on with regards to Tobes, much of it not accurate. There was some very high profile members of the board who very loudly disagreed with those of us who continually smacked Skiles for not playing him.

"You know Jon, we've seen Tobias Harris have some really nice games for the Magic since the trade. But what fans need to realize is that Orlando wasn't going to trade a proven commodity like J.J. Redick without receiving something significant in return.

Some commentators felt that Redick was worth not only a top prospect like Tobias but also a first round pick. The fact the Bucks were able to get him for only one of those assets speaks to the great job the Bucks front office did in making that deal. So when you see Tobias doing well down in Orlando, realize that in life you have to give up something to get something and the Bucks did here. To get a proven starter like Redick in midseason is a tall order and the Bucks were able to accomplish it.

B-b-b-b-but Jim, couldn't we have kept Tobes, waited until the offseason when Redick was FA and signed him giving up literally nothing in return? Isn't that how u get a proven commodity like JJ without giving up anything significant in return? Was a "significant piece" like tobes worth a 2 month rental of Redick? Couldn't we have just been patient and then had Redick AND tobes to chase the 8th seed with next year?

Only thing that can save the Bucks is a new owner and every single person fired. Even fire Jim and John the announcers who are a joke thier selfs.

Fire every single person on the Bucks pay roll.

We rip every move they make because the only "good" moves involves literally nothing and getting a guy like Delfino that will do absolutely nothing to further the franchise.

And Shaun Livingston.

the roster is improved over what he inherited.
the roster is younger than he inherited.
the roster has better cap flexibility than what he inherited.

there are clearly moves that havent worked out. those dont make him an idiot. idiotic moves make him an idiot. the harris deal at this point looks like it may be idiotic.
this deal has taken alot of my passiveness away from our moves. im not one to speculate about deals that are out there and those that arent..... most of our trades have been trash exchanges and silly to get all worked up about. this one..... we didnt need to give up harris in a redick deal. id feel certain based on reports that harris/ lamb was our counteroffer to a likely protected #1....and that is outrageous if harris is who we suspect he is.

All Harris has done in his career so far is be a productive offensive player whenever he's gotten a legitimate opportunity to play. Check out the #s when he gets 20+ minutes per game. Yet on this stupid f'n, a team near the bottom of the league in FG% mind you, they couldn't get him on the court and dumped his ass for a f'n rental. Harris producing for the Magic was the easiest thing in the world to see coming because he has always produced when given a legit opportunity. There wasn't a team in the league that was going to give the Magic a first or good young player for Redick except one.

The same f'n one that happily took Monta Ellis away from the Warriors so they could show massive improvement seemingly overnight.

The funny thing is Harris is actually one of the few players on this team who probably wanted to be in Milwaukee. So of course they ship his ass out of town even though he's young and arguably had the highest ceiling of any player on this team not named LARRY SANDERS! All so they can ensure a massive ass-whooping by the Heat in the playoffs.

I hate this f'n team.
Nothing will not break me.

You could literally have made no moves and the roster might be better for the future if that's where you're going with that....

If Henson is any good at all the Bucks could've been set for the next 5+ years in the frontcourt with Harris, Henson and Sanders. You already have a high-impact defender in Sanders. Harris was an efficient 15 point per game (and maybe better) scorer. If Henson becomes a player you are set for years.

Why was this so hard to see? Why was the 8th seed more important than a promising future that could've resulted in much better than that with intelligent decision making?

Jesus.

Exactly. Not sure I see the appeal of being forced to eat cow dung instead of human dung. At the end of the day you're still eating s**t.

Not to mention the Gooden and Salmons signings were worse than the worst signings of Harris' tenure (Gadz and Simmons). At least Simmons signing failing has the excuse of the foot problems messing him up, plus Gadz and him were both 25 when we signed them to their big contracts (meaning they were entering their primes and still had the chance to still be on the upside).

Bulls even without the luck of Rose
Pacers
GS

It happens. And those teams haven't sacrificed future talent in order to make it happen. Maybe if the Pacers had traded Paul George for a stopgap player last year they could have been as successful as a Hammond run roster... oh wait.
