Remember, he legit thought he was going to be an all star this year. And everything is going wrong. You can see his confidence is shaken by his body language.
He still shouldn't have said that, but I think it was more out of frustration than arrogance.

He also thought the same thing last year after a summer of running past and around summer league players.

Remember how painful it was waiting him trying to do that is real NBA games and how long it took for him to figure out it wasn't going to work ?

So sad. Its like watching wile e coyote.

Witt stayed small all game and the squad was overmatched. I swore that was a win when the ball was in the air, but oh well, gutty comeback, I won't dwell on this one too much.

There is lies the problem. I have very little confidence Wall will do that game to game much less in between quarters or plays.

No disrespect to Beal when I say this but Im starting to wish our 09-12 drafts should've went Curry, DMC, Klay, Drummond.

Dammit why are we cursed with EG!!!

I'd take:
2009: Curry
2010: Monroe
2011: Leonard + Faried
2012: Beal

It's unrealistic, because we wouldn't have been in position to draft Beal if we had those guys, but what they hay.

Our lineup:
PG: Curry/Price
SG: Beal/Webster
SF: Leonard/Webster
PF: Faried/Nene
C: Monroe/Nene

I'd say the future would be pretty bright. We wouldn't even need Okariza.

Id like to retract DMC and add Monroe, I totally forgot Monroe has only been in the league 3 years, he plays so smooth like a 5-7 year vet. Monroe/Drummond is gonna be nasty in a few years.

On a sidenote, I was at the game last night with great seats a few rows behind Ariza so I saw the airball but Wall looked so defeated on the court and anyone close could notice it I see why Calderon went to talk to him after the buzzer. It also seemed like Wall just blew him off which I didnt like, if anyone else knows about a losing situation even though your a solid PG its Calderon.

It makes me wonder WTF the Wizards Development Staff does and makes me wonder if Sam Cassell is in Wall's head enough, not as far as the basketball game but the emotional aspects of the game. Maybe a visit from GP or a PG of that stature is in order. If Lue wasnt the head of player development in BOS I would say he talk to him because apparently in BOS hes doing an incredible job on the development side and talking and working with the players up there.

I really don't know what a director of player development is supposed to do for Wall. You can't teach court vision. I'm sure coaches have told Wall to slow down and see the floor his entire life. If not, it's still pretty damn intuitive the morning after when looking at tape. 3rd year guys. I say extend him because the first contract is still relatively cheap but I wouldn't want to be the team that offers him the 2nd max extension.

Thing is, had they picked those players, they would not have had to the #3 to get Beal.

Well duh, if we had hindsight, we would have traded for Harden.

If we could just not play Detroit we'd be pretty good. Calderon always seems to own our PGs, even Gil struggled against him.

 @ Buck's call at the end though. Love Buck, but that is fail at the highest level. It did look good at first though, so can't blame him.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

on his contract maybe, but not his production on the floor.
He's been a revelation since coming back off the inactive list.
His +/- seems like it would have to be pretty good (not looking at
the numbers).

Mine too but I caught it ahead of time. The game was orig schedule for an 8 o'clock start
which is why the TV schedule was wrong.

Beal with another great half.

don't forget Price. The season turn-around actually coincided with
Price's return one game ahead of Wall.

We've seen Price as a starting PG. I'm not a fan. Granted, the bulk of his games as a starter came without Nene in the lineup, but still - if we trade Wall, priority #1 would be to find a starting-caliber PG.

The problem with trading Wall is that he plays at fast tempo few others can match and he has superior court vision (when he's not turning it over). I would be kind of worried about a rookie guard doing what Wall is supposed to do.

McCollum doesn't have the PG skills. Smart is bulky and more of power player than a speed player. I think he could get the job done, though. Trey Burke is smallish but seems pretty good.

I would trade Wall for Kemba and an unprotected pick or for Jimmer and an unprotected pick.

I would hope they could do better than that. I know, EG <sigh>.

That was the other big story from the game actually.

Brandon Knight shooting like prime Ray-ray. Monroe is a good player
so I give him props (Jose is too actually).
