I did check the protection. Cavaliers' pick belongs to Lakers but Cavs have the right to swap their pick (their own, from Heat and from Kings) with them, ONLY if the Lakers' pick is not in the lottery because that'd mean the pick is going to be extinguished. Since the Lakers are not in the Playoffs at the moment, their pick would be a lottery pick if it belonged to them instead of the Suns and that means Cavs cannot get the pick. In order for the Cavs to get the pick, Lakers have to make the Playoffs. (You can actually go and check the Cavaliers board, they're begging for Lakers to make the Playoffs)

Therefore, it's a Suns pick. For now. I think the thing that is playing with your mind is that the Mock Drafts of today are solely based on League Rankings instead of teams making Playoffs or not.

Second one is a typo, fixing it. It would be better if you showed me a source with correct Mock Draft standings instead of complaining in every update.

I cant imagine Joe drafting McCollum over Michael Carter-Williams. Joe has always favored bigger backcourts, I dont fit it realistic at all for him to start to 6'2 guys in the backcourt, neither of whom are real point guards.

Detroit is going with a real PG or a wing IMO. They likely have Shabazz and MCW higher on their board than McCollum
