It's not like he's completely wrong. Only Ryno & JJ was of value, the rest of them we were hard pressed to find any takers. We sent Ryno for Ayon. Only player we got anything relatively valuable was JJ, but his value was only a mid to late first rounder. Maybe someone would've take Jameer. The rest you'd have to give away for free or include picks for people to take them.

I don't know why he's still bitching about the Magic, though, should just focus on his team.

We didnt "send" Ryno. Another team wanted him and signed him to an offer sheet. Ayon was sent back to help with roster numbers. Teams wanted JJ, Lee was an attractive player, Turk was too (hence his big contract) so all his talk is a big misnomer.

Nothing we already didn't know, but I like Zach a ton. He did the other teams too, but here is the Magic.

from Zach Lowe's grantland article (today) http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/901 ... -teams-nba

We've hit the three-quarter mark of the regular season, which means the dregs of the league are about to fall out of our collective consciousness — at least on nights when they don't play a team fighting for playoff positioning. Before we say farewell to the NBA's sad sacks, here's a team-by-team look at the positive signs these franchises should be hoping to see during the next 20 games — signs that might hint at long-term growth.

Orlando Magic

Oof. The Magic are 5-31 after their 12-13 start, and have predictably fallen apart on defense as young players have taken more minutes from veterans — a trend that picked up again when Orlando unloaded J.J. Redick at the deadline. The next 100 games are about simultaneously semi-tanking and learning what they've got in all the youngsters: Andrew Nicholson, who has been productive in limited minutes, but nonetheless struggled to get to the line or grasp the nuances of NBA big-man defense; Tobias Harris, thriving from all over the floor at multiple positions since the Magic rescued him from Milwaukee; and Moe Harkless, a raw slasher with good athleticism and size who has flashed a very smart cutting game on offense.

Adet's name is making rounds right now, and he looks to have bust-out potential at SF. He's been linked to the Thunder, specifically, in recent weeks.

My goodness, I would love to take a chance on him but we already have Harkless and Harris and he looks like a mini Harkless out there.

So, um, who else is ready for March 12?

I thought I was still dreaming this morning when I saw that. I can't believe his agent and publicist let him get away with all this crap that he does. They need to tell him to just keep his mouth shut.

I hope it's a boo worse than anything we have ever heard in Orlando before. If you go to that game, please boo him obnoxiously.

I'd personally love to see it be pin drop silent. I think that'd be hilarious.

Watch him not be able to make the trip because of some fluke injury just to get the crowd all angry with him

If we can win just one more game this year, I'd like it to be that one. We've only got 3 players from the dwight era but I hope our guys rise to the occasion for the fans. Probably the last time we'll see the arena packed for awhile.

we could lose evey other game this year and I would be ok with that, imagine if we were the ones to keep them from making the playoffs 8-)

Exactly, we didn't even want Ryno for the money he was asking. But my point was that Ryno had value and other teams wanted him, didn't mean that he was worthless.

Why we talk about Lee? He was gone after '09. Did Dwight meant every players he ever played with in Orlando were trash? I was assuming he meant last year here, which consists of Ryno, JJ, Hedo, JRich, Jameer, BBD, QRich, Duhon, etc. Most of those players we couldn't even give away.

I wonder what Otis Smith is doing these days. Think he secretly posts on the Golden State forum? You can't be that entrenched in basketball and totally separate yourself.

I think Otis Smith is on a lot of peoples' minds with Dwight's comments today.

See e.g.
The moves Smith made after the Magic made the 2009 NBA Finals were either complete failures in retrospect, or universally panned right away. It’s very true that the Orlando Magic front office did not surround Howard with a championship level supporting cast, and Smith’s strings of reactionary moves made the situation worse with each trigger pull. The salted crops he left new Magic GM Rob Hennigan will take years to recover from.
