Re: Lions 2013 Free Agency idea thread
Jones signed for less than Hill did and is a better pass rusher, though not nearly as good against the run when SLH is healthy. Love that move.
Quin and Houston got the exact same deal. 5 yr/$25M. Not sure about the guarantees. Working on a piece for DLD on Quin for tonight, but I can tell you Houston is shocked he left for that $$.
Am told Cary Williams is still a possibility but I have no idea how DET would pay for it.
Bush at $4M/year >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Shonn Greene at $3.3M/yr, which is what he got from TEN. The Titans signings other than Hill are just ponderous

It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

As @AlbertBreer reported, Seahawks reached agreement with former Lions DE Cliff Avril.

OH MY GIGADY!
super stoked we got all 3 FA especially Quinn. i hope bush can stay healthy
Question:
Does Bush return kicks?
-i rather not and keep him healthy
Does this mean Delmas is scrapped?
Jason Jones- not familiar with the kid, anyone have a scouting report, he looks huge for a DE

Also does this mean we aren't bringing back Bell?
With these signings do we owe any teams any picks?

ya pretty much, Jones seems like the better all around player, while avril is going to give you the better looking stats?

Re: Lions 2013 Free Agency idea thread
Awesome free agency for us, and it might not be over. I read they may still bring Delmas back. But even of they don't get him, thats a sign to me that they are still going to get another Safety. I know that Landry had a visit scheduled. Perhaps we get him instead. If Stafford redoes his deal, we could have a bunch more money to spend, and there's still a lot of great players out there at our exact positions of need.
If we do get extra money, I'd love to see what James Harrison would cost, as a replacment for Durant.
Great day to be a Lions fan!
Our offense is going to be ridiculous, and our defense is getting better by the day and we still got the draft.

i think we try to bring Delmas back, and if we can't we just draft another one. this draft is pretty deep with Safeties. To my understanding, Landry was invited just in case Quinn didn't sign.
I would also love Harrison at LB, though i think he's going to be a little too expensive for us, and the FO is apparently pretty high on our 2 LB from last year.

James Harrison is a 34 LB. He doesn't fit at all.

didn't realize that, ya i know our Defensive scheme is looking for fast LB's. 34 isn't ideal.

Re: Lions 2013 Free Agency idea thread
After visiting the St. Louis Rams, former Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas is about to visit the San Francisco 49ers. Detroit's free agent is currently en route to the Bay area.
Delmas is still in the mix to re-sign with Detroit, but it appears he is trying to examine his options before making a final decision.
if we bring back delmas, that allows us a whole lot more flexibility in the draft.

I wonder if Avril just wanted out for some reason.....or if we pulled our offer to fill some other spots.

Does Bush become the PR/KR with this deal? We promised him to be the starting RB I believe and I can't think of any starting RBs that serve as a teams primary return-man as well. Thoughts?
