What's The Feel On Creating A Team Comparison Board ?

Post#1 » by DEEP3CL » Sat Jan 26, 2013 6:42 am

Just like how we have the player vs player board, is it possible to create a team vs team board ?

I often see those topics in the PC board, and just thought that if such board existed on it's own that it could work. Since the PC board is after all to compare player A vs player B, separating the two seems logical.

Or would creating one cause systematic issues ?

I'm just lobbing this out there, kinda like the dude at the MLB home run derby !!

Would like to hear suggestions either way.....good or bad.

DEEP3CL,

We are always open to suggestions.

Sometimes we do spin-off other forums.

For Ex: Player Comparisons was spun off of The General NBA Forum.

If the interest is there and The Player Comparisons Forum gets a lot of team topics, it could happen.

Hey Howard, it's been a month and a few weeks since I posted this thread. Sorry about the bump but since that time the PC has the topic we discussed this many times.....

viewtopic.php?f=64&t=1239398
viewtopic.php?f=64&t=1239041
viewtopic.php?f=64&t=1237097

Just a small sample size but I think a team comparison board could work...it seems to be an interest.

DEEP3CL,

There seems to be interest, I'll look into the possibility of a sub-forum or own forum.

I'm very careful on these things though because I like to make sure there is enough interest for a topic to be able to sustain it's own forum.

We will see though.

Thank you for the suggestion.

Oh I most certainly agree, the interest has to be at a level of sustainability for it to work. It just seems that we've been getting the team vs team and player vs player topics on the same board more frequently. I understand that these are decisions that have to be very concise.

If we do this we can make the inaugural thread "Howard and Friends Vs Team Supercool"

LOL! We will see what happens.

I'm going to be very cautious here as I always am about adding new forums.

Or at the very least rename the"Player Comparison" board to "Player and Team Comparison" board since mods treat both types of comparisons as "Player comparison."

It would also help the mods focus on other tasks if they didn't have to move team comparison threads every time because people weren't aware that PC and TC are treated as the same concept.

420,

We might actually do that and are discussing the idea.
