March Madness Brackets

Post#1 » by Jersey Generals » Thu Mar 21, 2013 8:00 pm

Who you all got?

This Wichita State vs Pittsburgh game is going to knock out about two/thirds of the people from the pool I'm in. I had the Shockers winning in every single one of the brackets that I entered.

I wish Matthew Dellavedova was a better athlete. He's a tremendous point guard, and plays with a lot of heart, but his physical limitations make it impossible for him to be as good of a player in the NBA as he probably should be, considering his skills.

Marquette just saved my bracket. I always thought that Davidson would be Marq's biggest challenge, and if they could get past them, they would probably make it to the Elite 8. Thankfully, that dream lives on for now...

Sigh of relief for that Gonzaga game. A little too close for comfort. Kelly Olynyk looked good, though.

So now that UNLV's season is over, I feel alright to mention what I've been seeing this entire season. I've toed the company line long enough...

If Anthony Bennett is taken in the top 10 picks of the draft, the team taking him will be sorry. Not that he isn't a good kid, who works hard, it's just a matter that he doesn't have it. Not yet at least. He wilts under physical play, he is bothered by length, he falls in love with his jumper way too much instead of positioning himself closer to the basket, and he flat out is awful on defense. Can he score? Yes. Can be develop into a good player? Absolutely. But as of right now, his physical limitations of being short hold him way back. He needs to come back for another season, but he shouldn't do that if he has top 10 possibilities as I think he should go with the money and take care of his future.

So my bracket has withstood the onslaught of Mountain West failures, but if Wisconsin loses, oh man, my bracket is destroyed.

Florida Gulf Coast is saving UNLV's ass, let me tell you. They have a recruit who is down to Maryland, Georgetown, and UNLV, and the Maryland and Georgetown homers were making fun of UNLV for losing in the first round last night on twitter, which the recruit retweeted. Well, if Georgetown loses, it's an even field again. Maryland made the NIT, so they suck no matter what happens.

That Indiana game was wild. I think Withey has contested just about every shot in this game.

My final four was Louisville, New Mexico, Georgetown, and Indiana. I have Indiana over Louisville 67-59 in the championship.
