I don't mind Moe at SG just because the wing positions are interchangeable. While Moe's handle is week, Harris is capable of bringing the ball up the court to help the pg's. Regardless, we're going to have a problem next year if we land Parker (Wiggins should be able to play SG).

I think this off season most of our core guys have to develop for the teams sake! While Tobias can play the 4 he needs to move to the 3 so that leaves Moe at the 2.
We also need a dominate interior piece in the future and a future PG possibly in draft...not to mention a better bench

Vuc is a center and Hark is a small forward.
For interior defense, we need more of an Ibaka. But what we need most now is assets.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt.LII "Lottery/Draft" Edit
I have two line ups for next year
PG = Smart
SG = Harkless
SF = Harris
PF = Nicholson
C = Vuc
or
PG = Meer
SG = Harkless
SF = Harris
PF = Noel
C = Vuc
If we want to be a good team down the road I want no part of Harris as a starting PF. Sure he is putting up some numbers but he is way to undersize. We already have a no defense center, we can't afford to have our PF get pushed around that much.
Here is my dream lineup though
PG = Smart
SG = Oladpi (Trade Affalo for Minny's pick)
SF = Hark
PF = Nic/Harris (I really don't know who is better long term)
C = Vuc
PG = Smart
SG = Harkless
SF = Harris
PF = Nicholson
C = Vuc
or
PG = Meer
SG = Harkless
SF = Harris
PF = Noel
C = Vuc

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt.LII "Lottery/Draft" Edit
I think Henny mentioned something about getting bigs in the draft because they are assets. I wouldn't be surprised if he went with Noel. To think they don't want the #1 pick in 2014 is ludicrous. Anything they can do in their power to make us worse they'll do. Noel's injury fits perfectly into our plan.

considering Hennigan has passed on Bynum, Perry Jones and Sullinger so far this season, my guess is that he's reluctant to take a gamble on injured players. i honestly don't think he'll take Noel if he has the chance.
i don't think there will be a player in this draft that will be able to prevent us from tanking.

well i certainly agree there isn't anyone who'll prevent us from tanking, but I don't think he passed on bynum for health reasons, it's was all mental. 4 NBA doctors cleared Bynum, Henny is not some medical genius, Bynum is just not the type of player Hennigan wants. Now it Noel is the same type of headcase, Henny won't pick him, but if Noel interviews well and his background checks out, I don't see any reason to believe Henny would pass on him for injury concerns.

I can believe that, I just think it's still a pretty big risk to take at this point. Noel doesn't have a history of injury a la Oden but big men and knees are a very dicey situation usually. But we don't even know where we're going to be picking or how the pre draft workouts are going to go right now.

Thats the thing, Noel isnt "BIG" he is TALL. There is a huge difference between the two. Noel is MAYBE 220 pounds soaking wet. 220 pounds on 6-11 is no weight at all.
Noels ACL injury should be looked at with the same or less concern then you would a guy like Derrick Rose/Shumpert/etc. He doesnt have a lot of weight to carry on his frame.
There is no comparison to giant guys (Oden/Bynum etc) with all that mass and stress they put on the knees. I Noel doesnt recover correctly from his injury it will have nothing to do with his size. I am not saying he is garanteed to recover perfectly, i am just saying you should not be anymore concerned then you would with any other player with the same injury.
IMO it is more concerning with a guy like Rose/Shumpert etc who's advantage over other guards was his explosiveness and pure speed and burst.
Yes Noel uses the same traits to his advantage, but in his case, even if the injury takes some ability away, he will still be much more athletic then most centers and "true" power forwards because they as a whole are much less athletic and slower then NBA point guards and/or shooting guards.
A smart coach once said, "Potential just means you're not good enough yet." Playing on potential is like living on air: It's essential, but if thats all you have, you're eventually going to starve.

Big men have historically had much less success with major knee injuries. I wouldn't trust Noel's recovery. Sure, he could recover, but I think the odds are greatly against him becoming a dominate player in the NBA. For one, he had some moments, but so has many players. He reminds me too much of Thabeet and Kwame.

Noel is closer in size to Shaun Livingston than he is to Bynum, I am not worried about his knee injury as much, he will fit flawlessly next to Vucci and he has more than enough time to rehab and work on other parts of his game.

Thabeet and Kwame have both had years to work on their games even though they never had serious injuries. Drafting Noel could be Henny's biggest mistake as a GM. Too risky of a move for someone like Henny. Trade down for sure.

You say that our potential future PF is "closer in size to Shaun Livingston than he is to Bynum" like it is a good thing
Even if his damaged knees don't have to bear the brunt of 300 lbs of bulk and muscle, he is still a big...with...Livingston...legs.

The problem with this trading down idea is that you have to have someone at the top of the draft worth trading up for, there is not one player who is remotely close to a franchise talent and very few with "allstar" potential. Smart is not an NBA pg and at the 2 he is a backup in the NBA and Mclemore is not going to be a big time player either, Noel may have had the injury but he fits and allows us to have virtually 2 lotto pic rookies next season.
Also you keep using Kwame and Thabeet but how about using Kenyon Martin instead, hes more Martin than Kwame/Beet, especially considering leg injuries in college

Livingston 6'7" 185
Noel 6'10" 210
Bynum 7'1" 295
yeah hes closer to Shaun than Bynum
