Baltimore O's (5-4) @ Bronx Bomberless (4-4): Take 1st!

Post#1 » by Dr. Detfink » Fri Apr 12, 2013 7:38 am

GM Brian Cashman has given Yankee fans hope that he is brokering a deal to attain Derek Jeter, Curtis Granderson in a few weeks...and possibly Mark Teixiera without giving up any prospects. Yanks will be forced to pay salary. Good ol'Cash making deals.

Despite Ichiro's sluggish start, the Cano-Youk-Wells order is starting to click. After two days of reminding Yankee fans why Cleveland is so awful, the Browns and Cavs generate storm clouds of futility....back home vs the upstart O's who in my opinion did enough to tire out the Yanks, in what should have been a quick 3-1 game set to full count.

The heart of the Yanks rotation is up:
cha-Ching Sabbathia
Seven Samurai Kuroda
Ageless one, Andy Pettitte

Can this team keep first in striking distance till the big names come off the DL?

Who is the odd man out when Granderson returns? Gardner? Ichiro?

I do like Wells in LF, Granderson in CF, Ichiro RF....that's a lot of good coverage and defense.

Here's a question, would you go after Joe Mauer for the short term? That's a great RBI man with ugly contract.

Got last minute tickets in row 426. Skipped Kuroda and started Hughes, big mistake. O's tacked on 3 more runs after offense tied 2-2. Phelps comes in for long relief and gets out young phenom Manchado and held the runner at 3rd for two more out.

Gonna say when Pineda comes back, Hughes in the pen and Nova/Phelps for the 5th spot in the rotation.

Phelps doing well. Youkalis, Wells, Cervelli getting hits but Ichiro and Cano are rally killers.

Can't get an RBI despite superb D, Wells nailing Jones trying to stretch a double.

Hughes sucks. Make him the long reliever already.

Kuroda hurls a shut out. Yanks take 2 out of 3 from the O's. A few thoughts on the O's. Thought they currently have the best outfield in the AL. That said, Machado is the one to watch.
